🏁 Tour Itinerary: 9 Days Beijing Xian Guilin Yangshuo

Day 1 – Arrival in Beijing, Airport Pickup, and Hotel Transfer

Welcome to the Greatest tour of China! On your first day, you will arrive in Beijing and meet our guide after reaching the arrival hall of the airport. Once welcomed by our guide, you will get some instructions and then head out to your hotel for check-in. You have any remaining time of the day for yourself, which is best to get some rest after the flight, as you need all your energy to see all the great things China has to offer.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Mercure Wanshang Hotel or similar.

Day 2 – Tiananmen Square – Forbidden Square – Temple of Heaven (B, L)

You will start the day with a full buffet breakfast in the hotel before we take you to visit Tiananmen Square; known to be the largest square in the world as well as one of the most important squares in China. The importance of this square is because of the events that were held here during their history. After Tiananmen Square, we will take you to see an iconic Imperial palace dating back to the Ming dynasty, called The Forbidden City.
By the time we finish this visit, it will be time for lunch in a nice local Chinese restaurant. After our lovely lunch and in the afternoon, we will head to the Temple of Heaven. This temple is one of the largest and most important places of worship in Beijing, which is also unique in its architecture. We also have special plans for the evening. The lovers of culture will especially like this visit to a theater to watch a Chinese Kung Fu Show. Our plans are done for the day, you can return to the hotel with us or go exploring if you want.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Mercure Wanshang Hotel or similar.

Day 3 – The Great Wall of China (B, L)

You will start your day with a full buffet breakfast in the hotel and prepare to see one of the seven wonders of our world. Our first destination for the day is The Great Wall of China, but since the wall is very long, we have selected one of the most famous and at the same time, less crowded sections. We will take you to the Mutianyu Section and then hike up and then down the wall. You can also take a cable car to ascend and use a toboggan to climb down the wall which is optional and the price is not included in the tour. After this visit, it is time to have lunch and make a short stop at Jade Factory to see its craft. We can even go shopping if time allows. We will then take you to another great attraction in Beijing called the Summer Palace. This palace has several lakes, gardens, and buildings. It is also considered one of the most beautiful parts of the city. Our plans for this day will end with a Tea Ceremony in a local tea house, which will help in better understanding the culture of Chinese people.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Mercure Wanshang Hotel or similar.

Day 4 – Hutongs of Beijing – Bullet Train to Xi’an (B)

You can have your last breakfast in Beijing in the hotel before we take you to one of the Hutongs of Beijing to walk in the older neighborhoods of the city. You can plan to have lunch during this visit or return to the hotel with your guide. In the afternoon the group will check-out from the hotel and then head to the airport to leave for Xian. Once in Xian, your guide will take you and the rest of your group to your new hotel to check-in and rest. If there is time you can explore a little, but it is better to rest and prepare for the next day.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Mercure Xi’an On Renmin Square or similar.

Day 5 – History and Culture of Xi’an (B, L, D)

Your first morning of Xian will begin with breakfast at the hotel. Then you will be taken to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum and after it, a pottery-making factory. During these two visits, you learn about the crafts and pottery of the Qin dynasty and see some exotic pieces of Chinese culture. By the time this visit ends, it will be time for our lunch in a fine local Chinese restaurant, where we can try some of their Chinese dishes.
After lunch, we can head out to discover more about the temples of China. Your guide will take you to see the Small Wild Goose pagoda. After seeing the temple and enjoying its unique architecture as well as its history, we will head to the Xi’an Museum. These two visits will take some time and a lot of energy, which is why we have arranged a dinner for you in one of the best local restaurants in Xian to have some of the famous Chines Dumplings. We will also be watching a Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show before returning to the hotel.
Remarks:
Since the dance show is closed in December, January, February, and March, passengers in these months will have a free evening instead.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Mercure Xi’an On Renmin Square or similar.

Day 6 – Xi’an Fortifications – Muslims Streets (B, L)

The first thing for today is breakfast at the hotel and then a visit to the Xi’an City Wall. You saw the Great Wall of China, but now it is time to visit some of the other fortifications of China which are ancient but very well preserved. Since this site is very large, you can rent bicycles to enjoy this visit even more (the fee is not included in your tour price). After the wall, we will have lunch and go to learn about the Muslims of China during a visit to The Great Mosque of Xi’an. We will see this well-preserved place of worship of Muslims and then take a walk on Muslim Street to try some of their food and snacks or go shopping if possible.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Mercure Xi’an On Renmin Square or similar.

Day 7 – Leaving Xi’an – Arriving in Guilin (B)

You will have breakfast first thing in the morning and check-out to leave for Guilin. You will fly to the city and your guide will take you to your first destination as soon as you meet in the arrival hall. The first place to see in Guilin is a famous cave called Reed Flute Cave which will be a great place for lovers of nature and the Earth. Our next destination is also a part of the Chinese environment known as the Elephant Trunk Hill. After these visits, your guide will take you to your hotel to check-in and get some rest.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Guilin Grand Link Hotel or similar.

Day 8 – River Cruise and the Yangshuo (B)

We will begin the day with a full buffet breakfast at the hotel and go to the pier. From there, we will have a Cruise on the Li River which will take us to Yangshuo. But while we are on the river, you can enjoy nature along the river and have the boxed lunch we have prepared for you. Enjoy this relaxing moment while it lasts, because after about 4 hours we will reach Yangshuo and take a walk in Yangshou West Street. You will get a chance to see the life of locals and hear a little about their folk-lore while there, you will then be taken to the rural areas of Yangshuo by car before heading back to Guilin and your hotel.
🏚️ Hotel Option: Guilin Grand Link Hotel or similar.

Day 9 – Departure from Guilin (B)

You can have your full buffet breakfast at the hotel before check-out and heading to the airport to fly to your next destination.

The fresh air of Yangshuo felt good and we liked the way how everything was clean. I know a bit Mandarin but thank God we had a guide because without him the language barrier would make it hard to communicate. A very rich and beautiful environment in addition to the history which was described beautifully by our guide and made the whole experience very special.

Feeling the rich history of China was fascinating; the large buildings, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, all the stories we heard from our guide. I never liked Chinese food but some of them tasted very good. The overall experience is something that I would suggest to everyone.

I’d like to thank our guide for the recommendations, tips, and information he gave us during the tour, which were really helpful. If I want to say in general, the tour was worth it and the cities were fantastic. There was only a negative point; sometimes, especially in Xi’an, we had to wait too much for the bus.
