🏁 Tour Itinerary: Family Montenegro Package Tour

Day 1: Virpazar – Skadar Lake National Park – The Old Town of Bar

We begin our tour by driving towards the small town of Virpazar. This former central commercial city is located in the heart of Skadar Lake National Park. From here, we will begin our boat ride through the picturesque canals of this lake, enjoying the rich flora and fauna and the diverse bird species.
The Old town of Bar is our next destination and in addition to sightseeing in this medieval town, we will also enjoy a Mediterranean lunch here at one of the old traditional restaurants. A stop to take some pictures above St. Stefan island on the way to Budva is a must-do. This island is visited by many Hollywood stars as well as royal families. Now the island is attracting you with its glamorous views, but it carries a tumultuous history as well.
The old town of Budva will be shown to you in an informative guided tour like the one you had in Bar. Budva Old Town is the most famous summer resort in Montenegro but also the center of nightlife in this area and it’s popular for all ages. We will sleep here in a hotel and your evening will be free for activities.

Day 2: Kotor Old Town

In the morning we are leaving to Kotor old town is well known as a maze because of the intertwined streets and the small squares with interesting names and stories throughout the town. Since 1979 Kotor’s old town has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List which is just another guarantee that you will truly enjoy this one-of-a-kind town.
From Kotor, we will take a speed boat tour to the church island Our Lady of the Rocks and to the Blue Cave for swimming and enjoying the sun. The Our Lady of the Rocks is a unique men-built island in the Adriatic Sea and we will also visit it.
Having lunch, enjoying some free time, and oversleeping in Kotor old town will give you the opportunity to enjoy the nightlife while admiring the night lights all around the town’s walls.

Day 3: Boka Bay – The Lipa Cave

After our night in Kotor, we will enjoy a panoramic drive over Boka Bay via the famous old road and 25 serpentines, until we reach the Old Royal Capital of Montenegro.
Cetinje town, the old royal capital: a small, quite poor but very original Montenegrin town with the old embassy buildings used today as cafes, souvenirs shops, and museums. The town is also the home of one of the most important monasteries in Montenegro, the Monastery of Cetinje.
From the mountain peaks we will move on to the caves: The Lipa Cave will show us its hidden beauties. It’s an easy walk through the depth of the earth.
Now we will enjoy a wine tasting with food tasting and another panoramic drive via “Pavlo’s side” above the amazing river Crnojevića. The old roads, the panorama, and meeting locals all filled this day with nice memories, now it’s time for us to rest at the hotel in Podgorica.

Day 4: Ostrog Monastery – Durmitor National Park

The third day is reserved for the Ostrog monastery and Durmitor National Park and its pearl, the Black Lake. The Ostrog Monastery is one of the most visited Orthodox places in the world, keeping the relics of St. Basil of Ostrog is one of the church-caves from the 17 century.
Durmitor is considered to be the most beautiful national park in Montenegro, and hiking from the Black Lake to one of the 17 remaining lakes is an experience without which a visit to Montenegro would not be complete.
A delicious traditional lunch of the area, a Kachamak, and some traditional roasted meat will definitely make you want to take a nap. This is followed by free activities, after that, we will spend the night in Žabljak, the highest inhabited place in the Balkans.

Day 5: Durdevica Tara Bridge – Tara River Canyon

The ZipLine along the grandiose Đurđevića Tara Bridge across the Tara River Canyon will wake you up and get your attention for sure. The Tara River is known as the tear of Europe because it delivers quality drinking water in its entire length.
Along the Tara canyon, we head towards the hidden Biograd Lake for an easy hike around the lake that will lead us through the Virgin beech forest. With the Morača Monastery from the 14th century along the scenic but one of the most dangerous roads in Europe, through Morača River canyon, we will end this 5-day tour.
