The Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan is a massive Mamluk era mosque and Madrassa located near the Citadel in Cairo. Its construction began 757 AH/1356 CE with work ending three years later “without even a single day of idleness”. At the time of construction, the mosque was considered remarkable for its fantastic size and innovative architectural components. Commissioned by a sultan of a short and relatively unimpressive profile, al-Maqrizi noted that within the mosque were several “wonders of construction”. Booked the 9-Day Egypt Cheap Tour. Received links to all Visa and Health Certifications in one place. Excellent service. I forgot to mark my calendar to pay the balance, but they didn’t cancel me, just took care of it for me.
We had great drivers (Hassan) and guides (Nasir and Abu) in Cairo, Luxor and Assad. Very accommodating for our small group, willing to make changes as requested. The staffs at the hotel and the ship, La Sarah we’re very kind and responsive. The “sleeping train” is a misnomer, but provided the transportation we needed. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime adventure.

+ PROS: Stafff, drivers, guides were all excellent!
    - CONS: Unaccustomed to traffic noise.

If are planning a trip to Egypt this would be my company of choice! We booked a full tour with Egypt Direct Tours and everything was clear and taken care of from the start. Our contact in Egypt communicated with us regularly before we even left the states. When we arrived in Cairo we were greeted by our guide Nasser. He was very accommodating the entire trip and made sure that even though we had a “itinerary” that we still got to spend time where we wanted to. We were never rushed and Nasser was full of information and made sure we got to experience all that was on our
“bucket list”. We have traveled quite a bit and normally don’t book guided tours however having Nasser in Cairo was priceless. A country like Egypt it is definitely worth getting a guide in my opinion plus you get all the extra details/history that you normally wouldn’t get. A big plus was our driver Hassan. If driving in Cairo was an Olympic sport (and it should be) he would take the gold. I can not thank them enough!

When we arrived in Luxor we were greeted by our guide Abu. Abu was absolutely amazing. He made sure we were all set up for our Nile cruise and explained what was going to take place each day. I even booked a Hot Air Balloon Ride as an add on and he made sure to work with our Egypt contact and the Hot Air Balloon company to make sure we got picked up from the boat. (Highly recommend asking about this!) He got us to the temples early before all the major tour groups arrived so we got to really spend some time and take amazing pictures without being crowded with hundreds of people. Abu also gave us so much history and explained the temples and their stories to us. This made it so much more special. The temples are incredible but having someone as educated as Abu to not only tell the history but answer all your questions was fantastic! Thank you Abu!

So if you are thinking about booking with Egypt Direct Tours, DO IT! You will not regret it.

Thank you TripWays, Nasser, Hassan, Abu, and Ahmed for making our Egypt Vacation incredible! See you next time!

+ PROS: Well Organized Fair Price All top sites included Safe Return PCR test arranged
    - CONS: Entrance fees to sites not included Wifi didn't work most the time Tipping is Confusing- Would be helpful if they offered a general guideline.

This was my first Direct Tour experience ever and my first time to Egypt. My first impression of the Cruise Ship Princess Sarah was it definitely not the ship I saw in pictures but it still had a lot of the same flavor. Prior to this 4 day cruise, I had only been on a Carnival Cruise, which is a completely different animal. The rooms are small but you don’t spend much time in them anyway. The mattresses could use some replacing as the firmness did bother my wife’s back but I was fine! Make sure you get your phone carrier’s International plan because there is a daily charge on the ship for WiFi and it only works in one room of the ship. The staff at Direct Tour was great! They keep in constant contact with you to make sure everything is running smoothly. My tour guide was wonderful! He made sure that all our needs were taken care of, including driving us to a clinic to make sure we had a Covid19 test in time to return from our trip back home. We found that our guide was very knowledgeable about everything Egyptian, not to mention, he was an Egyptian native himself. He made sure we knew what to expect and what to avoid when approached by local street merchants. Overall it was a great trip and a great experience! I would certainly use Direct Tours again in the future and I can’t wait for my next trip!

Tour is well organised and sufficient time was given at each site. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and helpful. Even the drivers for our tour are very good – very friendly and drives safely. The manager in charge of the tour, Ahmed is also very responsive and we appreciate the regular checks in from him to ensure everything is ok on our end. Highly recommend Egypt Direct Tours!

My husband and I enjoyed a trip of a lifetime with the help of Egypt Direct Tours. The 9 day itinerary provided everything I wanted to do in Egypt. It was a great value. This was a private tour, which invludef almost all expenses, but was less expensive than most of the group tours I found online. It was eas to book online. Our tour guide in Cairo, Nasser, and our driver, Abdullah were helpful, patient and kind. They made us feel like family. Our hotel in Cairo, Soulxe Pyramids, was a beautiful hotel. You could even see the prymids from the rooftop. Their breakfast buffet was hugh, with good variety of foods. The staffwere very nice. On the downside, I was astounded to learn their beds only had box springs–no top mattress. Thus, the beds werevery hard. AfterI complained, thestaff tried to remedy this by adding blankets to top of box springs, but it was still hard. Other minor annoyances we intermittent WIFI, a poor receptionon the TV. Tranfers and Flights to Luxor and back from Aswan were fine. Our drivers were waiting for us each time we arrived at an airport. Our Nile cruisewas fine, except we both contracted a stomach bug that gaveus diarrhea for 4 days. Be very careful what you choose from the Buffett. The ship, The Opera, was very pretty and the beds wrre comfortable. When you looked close, here were minor, aesthetic, maintainance issues, but not a big problem. The swimming pool on top deck is beautiful. The staff worked hard to make our trip special.
