Day 2 – Sri Dalada Maligawa – Peradeniya Botanical Garden (B)

Breakfast at the hotel
Visit Kandy temple (Sri Daladha Maligawa)
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.
Peradeniya Botanical Garden
Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annually.[1] It is near the Mahaweli River (the longest in Sri Lanka). It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees.[1] Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka.
Overnight at the Hotel in Kandy.

Day 3 – Kandy – Galmaduwa Viharaya – Colombo (B)

Breakfast at Hotel
A short turn off from the Kundasala Road just outside of Kandy and you will come upon a strange sight: the unfinished Galmaduwa Viharaya. Traditionally ascribed to King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe, it is said that while this building was being completed the king heard of the discovery of a caveat Degaldoruwa and stopped the work on Galmaduwa shifting his attention to Degaldoruwa. Sadly, in its unfinished state, this building was never used as a temple. The Galmaduwa Viharaya is an impressive building of strange architecture. As its local name suggests, it is basically a pavilion built of stone and brick. But a high gopuram gives it a Hindu identity. There is an admixture of Tamil-Hindu’s influence within the Buddhist place of worship.
Proceed to Colombo
Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 4 – Departure from Colombo (B)

Breakfast at Hotel
City tour of Colombo commencing with a visit to the Fort and the Pettah commercial hub with offices and shopping areas located amidst the oldest colonial hotel GOH. It has a fantastic view of the Colombo harbor, the lighthouse with a clock tower (older than Big Ben in London) close to the president’s house and old parliament. Afterward, proceed through the main street passing the old Dutch Museum, belfry, and old City Hall which houses puppets of earlier governors of Sri Lanka.
A stop will be made at the Old Dutch hospital with shops and restaurants facing Sri Lanka’s twin tower buildings. Continue to the old racecourse with a maze of buildings with colonial architecture, restaurants, and a shopping arcade passing through Colombo City Hall (mini replica of the White House in Washington, DC).
Shopping in Colombo
Thereafter Proceed to the airport with lingering memories of your trip to Sri Lanka.
