💎 Why we love it ?

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the short and rewarding Annapurna treks. The trail makes basically a loop around Ghandruk; and Ghorepani will reach in two ways, starting either from Phedi or Nayapul. If you start from Phedi, you will trek to Landruk, cross the Modi River, reach Kyumi, and from there to Ghandruk. If starting from Nayapul, your trail will go through Syauli Bazar and Kilu and then ascend towards Ghandruk. It is worth spending a day in Ghandruk village, which is mainly inhabited by Gurungs. Visit the Gurung cultural museum in the village and enjoy fabulous views of Annapurna South peak. From there you will be following a forested path to Tadapani then head west to Ghorepani.

🏁 Tour Itinerary: Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

On your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative of Outdoor Himalayan Treks will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the Hotel Friends Home or Hotel Mums Home or a similar grade hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu – Pokhara (900 m)

Your trekking guide will receive you from your hotel in Kathmandu at 6:30 AM and take you to the Tourist Bus Station at Kantipath. At 7:00 AM the bus will leave for Pokhara, exiting the valley of Kathmandu at Thankot and then descending through the winding highway. During the fascinating drive, you will be allowed to make two short stops for tea and breakfast at some convenient locations. After arriving in Pokhara at around 2:00 PM, you check-in at your hotel, freshen up and have lunch. Walking along the Lakeside would be a good idea for the evening. You are advised to get some good sleep to begin trekking the next day.

Day 3: Pokhara – Hile (1430 m) by Jeep – Hike to Ulleri (1960 m)

A private vehicle, leaving at 8 AM will transfer you to Hile (1430 m), the starting point of this Annapurna trek. After this 3-hours drive. Then you will go uphill to arrive at Ulleri (1,960 m) which takes about 1H 30 Mins from where you can see Annapurna South, Machhapucchre, and Himchuli peaks, where you will spend the night at a local teahouse.

Day 4: Ulleri – Ghorepani (2875 m)

After breakfast, you begin ascending the terraced path all the way to Banthanti, from where the path routes through a thick forest. After having walked for about 5-6 hours, you will reach Ghorepani (2875 m), known to be a major settlement of Pun ethnic people. If the weather is fine, you will be able to a greater part of the Annapurna Range from your room and the setting sun paints the scenery leaving an artistic effect on the horizon.

Day 5: Ghorepani – Poonhill (3210 m) – Tadapani (2600 m)

Wake up very early in the morning and hike up to Poonhill (3210 m), which takes roughly 1 hour. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy an outstanding view of the sunrise over the Annapurna Himalayan range. Some fifteen different mountain peaks (including Dhaulagiri) are also visible from there – no wonder the place is regarded as one of the best viewpoints. After enjoying the sunrise, you will descend back to Ghorepani (1 hour approx.) and have breakfast. After a short recess, resume trekking for about 5 hours to reach Tadapani (2600 m). You will be spending yet another night in a local teahouse.

Day 6: Tadapani – Ghandruk (1950 m)

Trek for about 3 hours and arrive at Ghandruk (1950 m) mainly through forests, hence the easiest segment of the entire trip. After lunch, you can explore the village, inhabited mainly by the Gurung ethnic community. You can also visit the local museum as well as a monastery. Spend the night in a local teahouse.

Day 7: Ghandruk – Pokhara

Trek down to Nayapul (1050 m) in about 4 hours. It takes about 1 hour to drive to Pokhara. Explore the city in the afternoon, take a refreshing walk in the Lakeside area, and spend the night in your hotel room.

Day 8: Pokhara – Kathmandu by tourist bus

The standard scheme is to provide you with a tourist coach to Kathmandu. However, if you wish to spend some extra days by yourself in Pokhara, the return ticket can be issued for your desired date. Join farewell dinner offered by Outdoor Himalayan Treks at an authentic Nepali restaurant where you can enjoy the live cultural show. Back to the hotel, overnight. (Flights are available at additional cost)

Day 9: Departure Day

Wake up, have breakfast then airport transfer at your required time.
