During this 4-day lodge safari you will visit three of the most well-known reserves on Tanzania’s – the Tarangire ‘The Elephant Playground’, the Serengeti (of course!) and spectacular Ngorongoro Crater with all the diverse landscapes and a crater full of animals. This really is the very best of Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. Your accommodation on this tour will include an overnight stay at Burunge Tented lodge, followed by an overnight at Acacia Migration Tented Camp, and is rounded off nicely with an overnight stay at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge before heading back to Arusha. This tour is ideal for couples, friends traveling together, and families. A truly magnificent safari adventure, enjoyed in your own private vehicle; just four days, but a lifetime of memories.
🏁 Tour Itinerary: Tanzania Classic Safari – Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro crater
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and after a short briefing you set off to the Tarangire National Park. ‘The Elephant Playground,’ as Tarangire is sometimes called, provides a spectacular destination for a memorable game drive. Huge herds of elephants are a distinctive feature of Tarangire, but the grassland, swamps, and floodplains found here are home to big cats, giraffes, baboons, and hippo – plus many, many more species. Tree-climbing lions and rock pythons are other local specialties. Around evening you will leave the Tarangire and head to the Lodge/Camp, where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive towards the fertile crater highlands where the farmers grow wheat, corn, and coffee. You will pass the Ngorongoro Crater before you reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park around midday. You will spend the night at the Tented Camp/Lodge.

Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
Dawn is a good time to watch wildlife and so you will be up early to join an early morning game drive. You will return to the camp for breakfast before heading out for another game drive in the park. After a picnic lunch, you will continue your journey towards the Ngorongoro Crater. Once you have reached the crater rim you will enjoy fantastic views of this 600 m deep collapsed volcano. Your lodge is situated on the crater’s edge, making for some fantastic photography.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will drive down the steep and narrow road that takes you into the crater. The slopes are forested but soon the landscape changes to savannah. Here the wildlife is just breath-taking and with a little luck, you can observe the “Big Five” in just a few hours. After a morning dedicated to game viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the early afternoon to drive back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening.
