Museums in Spetses
Dating back to the 18thcentury, Spetses’ museum is a magnificent symbol of local architecture, housing a flat facade with a carved ground floor patio constructed between 1795 and 1798. On the first floor, you’ll find a collection of relics and antiques displaying the Early Classical period’s history and culture to the beginning of the 20th century. Going inside the site, it soothes visitors’ eyes with large stunning photographs and pictures, including a Venetian map of Spetses from 1580.
The Bouboulina Museum
Τhe Bouboulina Museum was initially opened in 1991 by Laskarina Bouboulina’s family to preserve the heroine’s mansion from imminent collapse. Visitors will soak up at cherish and well-admired hand-carved Florentine ceiling and the prominent Italian and the 18th and 19th centuries’ French furniture. You will also find the old firearms and swords, among which Bouboulina’s own gold plated pistol is displayed.
Bekiri’s Cave
