Koh Samui Beaches
Chaweng Beach is one of the most developed and famous beaches on the island and houses luxury resorts. Laem Seabeach is a peaceful slice of paradise filled with a gorgeous coral garden. Head northwest to Phang Ka beach to soak up in the spectacular sunset views you’ve ever seen.
The Koh Samui’s second-largest resort spot, Lamai Beach, hosts a series of unusual and colorful rock formations named “Grandpa” and “Grandma.” Head to the northeast, the stunning palm-lined cove flanked Silver Beach awaits you with a great chance of snorkeling in the calm bay. Head to the north of the island and soak up in Maenam Beach‘s tranquility and spectacular views.
Ang Thong National Marine Park
Ang Thong National Marine Park is an ancient archipelago of 42 islands located in Thailand covered with thick jungle, fertile mangroves, towering limestone mountains, white-sand beaches, hidden coves, waterfalls, and lakes. It houses various sea creatures and exotic wildlife in a conserved area of more than 100sqkm of land and sea.
Big Buddha
The popular Big Buddha temple, located on the northern coast, is the most famous Koh Samui monument. The 12 m golden Buddha statue can be seen from almost several kilometers away. Take a stroll around the temple, the small market, and multiple food stalls.
Bophut’s Fisherman’s Village
Fisherman’s Village Samui welcomes visitors with rustic-style structures, trendy restaurants, boutique stores, and some hotels along the tight Beach Road. Don’t miss out on Fisherman’s Village walking street market on Fridays, where you’ll find a fantastic collection of wares and absorb the lively atmosphere.
Secret Buddha Garden
The Secret Buddha Garden, located at the top of Pom Mountain, is an incredible sculpture park and a 14-year working a retired farmer, Khun Nim. He initially constructed the place for mediation and relaxation in solitude. He’s now buried in this magical place filled with fountains, sculptures of Buddha, angels, animals, musicians, and enclaves. Climb up the staircase encompassed by lush flowering garden and scenery and soak up in the final peace and tranquility.
Phra Yai Temple Complex
Phra Yai Complex is a Buddhist temple situated three km from Koh Samui. The majestic and stunning fusion of golds and reds is home to a gigantic 12-m high gold Buddha statue at the peak of a staircase. Phra Yai, also named the Big Buddha Temple, is one of the most well-admired and famous temples in Koh Samui, attracting tourists and locals year-round.
Wat Plai Laem
Another Buddhist temple in Koh Samui, Wat Plai Laem, was built in honor of the Chinese goddess of mercy and compassion, Guanyin. The new-made temple is decorated with ancient murals.
