Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 – Marrakech to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas & Kasbahs

  • Hotel Pickup, Marrakech — 07:00–08:00 — Pickup from your riad/hotel in Marrakech in a private 4x4 vehicle, heading south over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass.

    Tizi n'Tichka Pass Photo Stop — ~10:00 — Stop at Morocco's highest paved mountain pass (2,260m) for panoramic views of the High Atlas range.

    Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah — ~12:00–14:00 — Guided visit of this UNESCO World Heritage fortified village (ksar), famous as a filming location for Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. Walk through the mudbrick alleys with a certified local guide.

    Lunch in Ait Ben Haddou — ~14:00 — Traditional Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant with views of the kasbah.

    Ouarzazate Film Studios — ~15:30–17:00 — Visit "Morocco's Hollywood," touring one of the region's famous film studios, with sets used in major Hollywood productions.

    Check-in, Overnight in Ouarzazate — ~18:00 — Check in to your riad/hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Day 2 – Ouarzazate to Marrakech

  • Breakfast & Check-out — 08:00 — Breakfast at the hotel before departure.

    Taourirt Kasbah, Ouarzazate — ~09:00–10:00 — Visit this historic kasbah, once home to the Glaoui family, showcasing traditional Berber architecture.

    Return over Tizi n'Tichka Pass — ~11:00 — Drive back over the Atlas Mountains toward Marrakech.

    Lunch en Route — ~13:00 — Stop at a mountain restaurant with valley views.

    Drop-off in Marrakech — ~16:00–17:00 — Return and drop-off at your riad/hotel in Marrakech.

Please Note

  • This is a private day trip — just you and the people you choose to share it with. No shared groups, no strangers.
  • Pickup is from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. If your accommodation is inside the medina and vehicles cannot access it, a meeting point just a short walk away will be arranged for you.
  • A valid passport or national ID is required for all travelers. Moroccan authorities may request identification at certain checkpoints along the route.
  • The visit to Ait Benhaddou involves walking on uneven earthen paths and some uphill climbing through the kasbah. Comfortable, sturdy flat-soled shoes are strongly recommended. The walk is at a relaxed pace and suitable for most fitness levels.
  • The pre-Saharan region around Ouarzazate and Ait Benhaddou can be very hot during the summer months. Sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water are strongly recommended for the outdoor portions of the day.
  • Infant seats are available on request — please mention at the time of booking if you are travelling with a young child.
