🏁 Tour Itinerary: In Depth Jordan Tour

Day 1 – Arrival at Aqaba Airport – Aqaba

Arrive at Aqaba airport. Meet and greet by Jordan’s experienced representative. Transfer to your Hotel in Aqaba city for dinner & overnight. Aqaba is the largest city on the Gulf of Aqaba and Jordan’s only coastal city. It’s dedicated to relaxation, water sports, and winter warmth, Aqaba is warm, sunny, and inviting, fringed with palm trees, lapped by the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, cooled by a steady northerly breeze, and ringed by mountains that change in color with the change of the hours.

Day 2 – Aqaba – Petra Sightseeing (B, D)

No wonder UNESCO placed Petra on its World Heritage List one enters Petra bypassing The Siq, a deep and narrow gorge, at the end of which all of a sudden dramatically appears the most famous monument in Petra: Al-Khazneh or The Treasury. Maybe you will recognize it as the stage of the final sequence of the movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’. But the Treasury is just the start. Walking and climbing in Petra hundreds of buildings carved in stone and eroded through the centuries into fabulous multi-colored walls will be revealed to you then transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Petra – Wadi Rum – Jeep Tour (B, D)

After breakfast, drive to Wadi Rum, Uniquely shaped massive mountains rise vertically out of the pink desert sand, which separates one dark mass from another in magnificent desert scenery of strange breathtaking beauty, with towering cliffs of weathered stone. The faces of the sheer rock cliffs have been eroded by the wind into faces of men, animals, and monsters. Wadi Rum, the valley of the moon according to Lawrence of Arabia; here you will have the opportunity to experience the Jeep Tour 4×4 for 2 hours to explore the most spectacular sites of the area ending with a cup of tea made by Bedouins as a refreshing after your visit. After your visit dinner and overnight at the camp in Wadi Rum.

Day 4 – Wadi Rum – The Dead Sea (B, D)

Breakfast at your Camp, Drive to The Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Free time at Leisure in the Dead Sea, the lowest places on Earth, 420m below sea level. You will have the possibility to swim in the Dead Sea where you will experience a rare floating sensation while giving your skin beauty treats. Put yourself to sink into the waves of the sea treat without, have a massage, or try out the healing properties of mineral mud on the skin Dinner and overnight at the hotel in the Dead Sea.

Day 5 – The Dead Sea – Madaba – Bethany – Amman  (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel then drive to visit Madaba which is located 30 kilometers southwest of the capital Amman. It is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, especially a large Byzantine-era mosaic map of The Holy Land. Madaba, one of the most spectacular churches around the world; ST. George Church where you will find the Mosaic Map of Jerusalem painted on the floor of the church. Then drive to visit Mount Nebo the place where Moses was buried. You will be lucky if the sky is clear enough; you will have a wonderful view up from the mountain seeing the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Jericho on the other bank of the Jordan River. Then transfer to the hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Amman – Jerash – Ajloun Castle – Amman (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel, then drive to visit Jerash the Pompeii of the East You will enter Jerash through the monumental South Gate and find you wandering around in a Roman city. You will walk in the Oval Plaza surrounded by colonnades, visit the Roman Theatre and Byzantine Churches with mosaic-covered floors. Enjoy a stroll along Jerash’s main road the Cardo and pass by the Nymphaeum. You may experience the marvelous acoustics of the theatre, the stage of the Jerash music festival which takes place every year. And see for yourself how the Romans built the earthquake-proof columns of the colonnaded streets.

Then drive to visit Ajloun Castle is another highlight of northern Jordan. The Qalat er-Rabad, as the Ajlun Castle is locally known, was the base of the Arab forces of Saladin, when he defeated the Crusaders in the 12th century. The Ajlun Mountains are famous for their lush vegetation and thick green forests and a good place for hikes. Then transfer to the hotel in Amman for dinner & overnight.

Day 7 – Amman City Tour – Desert Castle (B)

After breakfast, Visit the Eastern desert, The Romans were not deterred by the desert climate and built a chain of fortresses along with the ‘limes Arabic’s’, the frontiers of their new Arabic province. Most of the castles you can visit nowadays were built by the caliphs during the Umayyad period. Some are decorated with fine mosaics, frescoes, stone and stucco carvings, and illustrations. They stand as silent and impressive evidence of Jordan’s rich history. Today you shall see three of the best-preserved desert castles.
Qasr al-Kharaneh is the largest and most richly decorated Ummayyad castle in Jordan. It’s a large, square fortress, surrounded by walls with circular towers on every side. Qusayr Amra Its interior walls and ceilings are covered with lively frescoes and two of its rooms are paved with colorful mosaics. Qasr al-Azraq is built in black basalt. Then drive to explore the capital and the largest city of Jordan. It is the country’s political, cultural, and commercial center and one of the well-known cities for thousands of years ago, which was called Rabbat Ammoun, Here you will visit the Citadel, the Roman Ruins, and the Roman theatre in the most active center of the city Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 – Amman – Departure From Qaia (B)

Unfortunately, all great things must come to end. Transfer to Amman / the Airport for your next destination. Good trip!

    Great tour. Both guide and the driver were great. the guide was very knowledgeable and his love for Jordan clearly shows through. I had the best 8 days ever!
