🏁 Tour Itinerary: Uganda Primates, Wildlife & Kigali (Rwanda) City Tour

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park With Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

We assume you will arrive in Entebbe/Kampala a day before the start of this thrilling safari. We will set off early to explore Uganda and experience the natural wonders that make Uganda the pearl of Africa! We will use the first day to travel to Murchison Falls National Park. However, business at Murchison Falls must! We enter Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary first to experience life with the white rhinos. We will be looking out for moments as Rhinos charge and use their prized horns to dig the ground and as well break tree branches. Rhinos are endangered species and not easily found in plenty like at this sanctuary! Brace yourself for this activity and keep your camera close for those moments to take photographs.
After tracking the rhinos, we proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, arrive at the planned accommodation facility to relax and overnight stay.

🏚️ Accommodation: At Heritage Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Exploration of Murchison Falls National Park

You begin your exploration of the park with a game drive in the northern circuit of the park. There you will encounter beautiful rolling plains. While in these plains you may view Lions, Giraffes, Hartebeest, Buffalos, and Elephants, Bushbuck, Spotted hyenas, Wild cats, leopards as well as many of the other mammals of the park. For the birders, this area supports the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny, and Marshal Eagles Carmine, and Swallow-Tailed Bee-Eaters among others.
In the afternoon, you will go for a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls where you will view the Nile as it thunders through a small 7-meter gap down to the delta. This experience is breathtaking and the mighty thunder of the falls should not be missed! The banks of the Nile are home to many animal and bird species. You may see huge Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, and other wildlife that may come down to drink from this mighty river.
After docking at the base of the falls, you will undertake a hiking expedition to the top of the falls. While hiking, you will enjoy sighting these marvelous falls from different angles and it’s from the top where you will enjoy seeing the Nile River forcing its way through the narrow gorge.

🏚️ Accommodation: At Heritage Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

You will get more of this adventure by travelling to Kibale Forest National Park to conduct yet another core activity of this safari-the tracking of chimpanzees. The distance between Murchison Falls and Kibale Forest is relatively long but we believe that you will approach this safari with positivity and enjoy your adventure! More so travel is a component of a great adventure! That bit of strain will give you some extra content to define this safari.
Nevertheless, we will have occasional stopovers to watch the natural features along the route. This includes the Rift valley escarpments, the lakes, birdlife, and the entire village setup.
On arrival, you will instantly start enjoying the natural breeze and beauty of the place and its environs. Pat of the team to welcome you to Kibale Forest will be the Blue monkeys and Black/White colobus monkeys which frequent the surrounding areas to your lodge.

🏚️ Accommodation: At Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park

On this day, you will brace yourself for an encounter with Man’s closest cousins; the chimpanzees in the forest of Kibale. Your time in the forest will also provide you with more opportunities to observe a variety of other primates (including the Colobus Monkeys and the Mangabey), animals as well as birds, and a variety of butterflies, flowers, and other insects. Chimpanzees are the closest relatives to humans sharing about 98.7% of their DNA composition with humans. They are sociable, intelligent as well as communicative! Other interesting traits are their abilities to use stones to crush nuts, use empty pods to collect water plus using sticks for capturing termites from their holes.
After chimp tracking, you will go to explore the crater lakes area possibly with a hike to the “top of the world”. You will enjoy the beauty of the several small lakes surrounded by gentle hills and stunning views. You will take a hike to Lake Nkuruba where you will encounter different species of primates and birds. During the nature walk, you will interact with the local people as you walk through their villages and enjoy the panoramic views of the Kibale area.

🏚️ Accommodation: At Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a relaxed breakfast, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Through your safari vehicles’ windows, you will enjoy the spectacular views of the splendid Rwenzori Ranges. The drive from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National park describes the distinct natural scenery of East Africa. The weather, the vegetation, and the landscape are unique to East Africa!
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a nature walk in the surrounding communities. You will explore several plantations and interact with the local people.

🏚️ Accommodation: At The Bush Lodge.

Day 6: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park

You start this day’s activities by having a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Game Park. This activity focuses on giving you a personal encounter with the wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Game Park. During the game drive in the Kasenyi plains, you will see various animals such as Elephants, Buffaloes, and Antelopes. Lions are elusive cats and chances of sighting them during the normal game drives are limited. To enhance the chances of sighting them, you will track lions during the game drive in Kasenyi plains.
Queen Elizabeth has the environs of the Kazinga Channel, Lake Edward, and Lake George. It is intended that upon completion of your game drive in the park, you undertake an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel- a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. It is intended to give you desirable relaxation and we believe it will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari because of the abundant birdlife and animals that are sighted.

🏚️ Accommodation: At The Bush Lodge.

Day 7: Cruise to Lake Mutanda in Kisoro

You will get to further attest to Uganda’s endowments by traveling to Lake Mutanda for yet an amazing encounter with nature. When you get to Lake Mutanda, laze at the balcony of your lodge as you view the foothills of the Virunga Mountain range as well the three volcanic mountains of Muhabura, Sabinyo, and Gahinga.
More to this lake are the several islands which accommodate a variety of animal and plant species that are unique to this area. Beauty and nature cannot best be described than Lake Mutanda and the environs.

🏚️ Accommodation: At Mutanda Lake Resort.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Early morning, you will go gorilla trekking. This amazing activity takes you through the densely forested steep hills until you finally meet these tranquil gorillas within the green plant cover. It is such a wonderful yet memorable encounter. The canopy will envelop you completely with rare and exotic flora found on every side. This is a challenging trek since it involves hiking through steep ascents and tangled trails.
Once gorillas are identified, you will be allowed a maximum time of one hour within their vicinity and then after walk out of the dense forest. Your time with the gorillas will certainly create a long-lasting memory about your visit to Uganda.

Upon arrival in Kigali city, you will embark on discovering this city by taking a city tour. Particular places expected to be visited will include the Genocide Memorial, the city’s Caplaki Crafts Village, and the local markets.
