💎 Why we love it ?

Escape the crowds and the busy roads at Angkor. We cycle on the quiet back roads and jungle trails to explore the breathtaking temples and friendly Cambodian countryside along the minor roads to see different views of the country. Not just only cycling beneath towering fig trees among a thousand years of Khmer history at Angkor, but it also takes you through the inevitable provinces that you can pedal safely along the dirt roads and endeavor by friendly and hospitable smiles of the Cambodian people.

🏁 Tour Itinerary: Angkor to Phnom Penh by Bicycle

Day 1: Cycle the Siem Reap Backroads (D)

Welcome to Siem Reap! Upon arrival at the airport, you will meet our driver and the English-speaking tour guide, who will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel to check-in. You will have time to rest before starting your cycling at 2 pm.
In the afternoon, we will take you down interesting dirt roads to escape town and to experience local livelihoods. There are multiple scenic places where the tour will stop, including rice fields, rice mills, local markets, mushroom farms, and more. During this ride, we will stop and welcome you to try local fruits and snacks at the local village.
We will return back to town and take a break from touring and enjoy the creative local cuisine at Marum Restaurant (Marun is NGO that has been working with street children and other marginalized young people).

🏚️ Hotel Option: Central Corner d’Angkor or similar.
Today’s Ride: 20 Km

Day 2: Pedal the Angkor Archaeology Park (B, L)

After breakfast at the hotel, you start biking the morning temple exploration at the most illustrious temple with fewer crowds. First, you will visit Ta Prohm which is unique in that it has been left largely as it was found- overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground. This makes the so-called Tomb Raider Temple, as it was used during the filming of the movie, one of the most picturesque and memorable temples of the Angkor complex.
You will then head out to the ancient city of Angkor Thom, enter the city through the ancient Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with elephants and four giant faces. From here, continue to Bayon Temple, found in the center of the city famed as the enigmatic faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are also must-visits as they are both known for their intricate bas-reliefs.
You will take a break at lunch and stop at the local restaurant to enjoy tasteful Cambodian dishes.
Lastly, you will bike to the gem of the Angkor complex, Angkor Wat. Following your tour leader, you will be mesmerized by the rich history and symbolism of this unique ancient temple. Afterward, you will return to your hotel.

🏚️ Hotel Option: Central Corner d’Angkor or similar.

The cycling distance was spot on for the four days and the landscape that we saw was just incredible. My guide spoke perfect English and had vast knowledge about all of the history behind the temples and floating villages. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
