🏁 Tour Itinerary: 3 Days Tour of Sicily – Beautiful Villages of the Beaten Path
Day 1: Castroreale e Milazzo
Pick-up at the airport and hotel check-in. You will be welcomed by your tour guide at the airport of Catania or Palermo, or in the city of Messina. During the first day, this tour of Sicily will bring you to the town of Milazzo, the biggest fortified citadel of Sicily, and to the village of Castroreale, with its historic monuments: the Cathedral, the Municipal Museum, and other ancient churches preserving a remarkable artistic heritage. Lunch at a local farmhouse, dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Novara di Sicilia e Altopiano dell’Argimusco
Breakfast in the hotel and check-out. Transfer to Novara di Sicilia and visit one of the Sicily beautiful villages. Here, far from the crowded tourist destinations, you will find out a place where the authentic soul of Sicily is still living: ancient churches, historical monuments, windmills, and a medieval bridge are just a few of the attractions! Learn about the ancient Sicilian crafts, see a demonstration of the local Maiorchino cheese and listen to the musicality of an ancient dialect still spoken in this hidden village. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon our tour of Sicily continues with a visit to the magic and mystic Argimusco Plateau, one of Sicily off the beaten path destinations, located near Montalbano Elicona. This mysterious place, probably a past sacred site, is characterized by huge anthropomorphic and zoomorphic rock formations, once used as an astronomical observatory. From this place, you will admire the most suggestive and warm sunset, feeling reconnected with nature. Arrive in Montalbano Elicona in the evening, check-in, and dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Montalbano Elicona and Tindari
Breakfast in the hotel and check-out. In the morning you will enjoy a visit to the medieval Montalbano Elicona, another one of Sicily beautiful villages: walking through its alleys, you can discover the center that has been the scenery of its century-long history: visit the majestic castle dominating the town from above, the Cathedral and the panoramic Belvedere. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to Tindari. This village is known for being the pilgrimage site of the Black Madonna: enjoy a visit to the beautiful sanctuary decorated in mosaics and admire a spectacular view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Then you will visit the archaeological area of the ancient Tyndaris that still keeps a Greek-Roman theatre, ruins of ancient dwellings, and of a Basilica. At the end of the tour transfer to the airport.
