In this Eastern Sicily itinerary visiting Taormina is a must. It will fascinate you with the scenery of its Greek-roman theatre, and romantic walking on Corso Umberto between ancient monuments and exclusive shops. We continue our trip by visiting some of the most beautiful Italian villages: Castelmola, where we will taste the typical almond beverage, but also Savoca and Forza D’Agrò. Continuing to Messina, to discover the history of the famous Bell Tower with the largest astronomic clock in the world, its Cathedral, the Strait of Messina, and the lakes of Ganzirri.
🏁 Tour Itinerary: 3 Days Trip to Sicily All-Inclusive – Eastern Sicily Tour
Day 1: Savoca – Forza d’Agrò e Casalvecchio Siculo
Pick-up and hotel check-in. You will be welcomed by your tour guide at the airport of Catania or Palermo, or in the city center of Messina. During the first day, you will have a full-day Godfather tour in Savoca to discover the famous places of the Godfather movie ad Bar Vitelli, Church of Saint Lucy but also the Church of Saint Micheal and the Crypt of Capuchin friars. Our second stop will be Forza D’agrò where we will visit the Cathedral of Annunciation, the Church of Holy Trinity, and the Museum of Chocolate. Lunch in a typical restaurant with local products. After lunch, we will visit the tiny village of Castelvecchio Siculo with the Abbey of Saints Peter and Paul of Agrò. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Taormina – Isola Bella – Castelmola e Gole dell’Alcantara
Breakfast in the Hotel and departure to Alcantara Gorges, a natural canyon on the slopes of Mount Etna. In Summertime you can have also an optional tour on a boat around Isola Bella. We will have lunch in a restaurant in Taormina and then a walking tour in the main street of the city visiting the Greek-Roman theatre, the Catherdral, Corvaja Palace, the Public Gardens. We will continue to Castelmola with its Castle, the Panoramic point, and the Cathedral, tasting the typical almond wine. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: Messina and Etna Winery
Breakfast in Hotel and check-out. We will visit the city of Messina, discovering Capo Peloro and the Lakes of Ganzirri, the Fountain of Nettuno, the panoramic point underneath the temple of Christ the King, the Church of Montalto, the Cathedral and the Bell Tower with the astronomical clock, the Church of Catalans. Then we are going to have lunch in a typical winery on the slops of Mount Etna, tasting the local wines from the soil of the Volcano. At the end of the tour, transfer to the airport (or city center of Messina).

Our tour guide, Cecilia, was a delight! She entertained us with lots of stories that gave us insight into the history and culture of Sicily. The drive to Mount Etna and Taormina allowed us to get a good sense of the landscape of Sicily. Would definitely recommend the experience!
