🏁 Tour Itinerary: Private East Black Sea Tour

Day 1 – Trabzon / Rize (D)

Welcoming at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Ready for highlighting the Blacksea region. First, let’s drive to the Sumela Monastery which is hidden inside the mountain. Currently, Sumela Monastery is under reconditioning but it will welcome visitors by 1 June 2019. So, we will just see the natural views and outside appearance of Sumela Monastery till June 1st.and then directly drive to Fırtına Valley in Ardeşen, Rize, going up through the mountains you will discover the purely natural beauties; rivers, forests, waterfalls, etc. You will also experience the local tradition there. You will see various historical bridges that originated through the 1600s. After visiting historical Zilkale Castle, let’s move on to the Ayder Highland.

Day 2 – Artvin (B, D)

Today, we visit Borçka Karagöl Lake, Maçahel Valley, Mençuna Waterfall, and Arhavi Historical Double Bridge. We will enjoy local cuisine, experiencing regional music instruments “Tulum” along with its dance “Horon”.

Let’s take advantage of being close to the border of Georgia. Today our route goes to Batumi, Georgia. In Batumi, we have an enjoyable program. We visit the Botanic Garden, Ethnographic Museum, Batumi Dolphinarium, Alphabetic tower, Astronomical Clock, Europe Square, Piazza Square, Fountain Of Neptune, Church of St. Nicholas, and Holy Mother Virgins Nativity Cathedral. Travelling to Turkey has become somewhat of an obsession for me. When last October a sudden change in a much bigger travel itinerary throughout the Middle East left me and a friend with about a week to fill, we booked very last minute this Private Black Sea Tour with Northa Travel and our outstanding tour guide Alican.
It truly was one of my most memorable travel experiences. Not only did we experience this very scenic region of Turkey with its green mountains, deep valleys, tall waterfalls, emerald lakes surrounded by colorful forests, historic castles and peaceful highlands. But our guide Alican, who was knowledgeable and well-spoken, flexible to our needs and very kind, offered us an authentic insight into the history, culture and people of the area.
I will never forget our stay in Pokut, the summer pastures high in the mountains, where we spent the evening with lovely locals eating delicious foods, listening to the bagpipes, singing and dancing. The following evening, Alican invited us to meet his family at his parents’ home. What was to be a quick visit turned into a meal of local dishes like hamsi (fried anchovies) and muhlama (Turkish cheese fondue) meeting many of the neighbors who stopped by later just to say ‘hello’.
Turks are generally known to be very hospitable, and in a private tour, a guide can tailor the activities and experiences to the interests and needs of his clients but in this tour Alican took hospitality to another level. Thank you again Alican for a wonderful experience!!

black sea area is very beatiful. The Pokut highland and Kerester highland are very worthy to go. Our guide Oguz is very friendly and patient. We went to his tea garden which is near black sea side with very nice view.
Please book this tour – fantastic hand picked destinations and the most amazing people you will ever meet!
