MEKONG DELTA (B/L) Depart from Saigon for the 1.5hr drive to Ben Tre, situated in the Mekong River Delta, exchanging city scenes for lush rice paddies and fruit farms. At the pier, embark on a fascinating motorboat excursion past stilt houses, fish farms and scenes of countryside living. Arrive at Turtle Island, and sample freshly picked fruit and coconut milk while interacting with a local farming family. Visit a family-run coconut candy workshop, utilising Ben Tre’s famous coconuts. They will also experience a performance of Đờn ca tài tử, a unique cultural highlight of the region. The journey continues with a relaxing sampan ride through narrow canals shaded by water coconut trees. A local lunch of local specialties will be served at a local restaurant before returning to Ho Chi Minh in mid-afternoon. CU CHI TUNNEL - HALF DAY CITY TOUR (B) Today you will enjoy a half-day private excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels consist of more than 200 km of underground tunnels, connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels including innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Please note: The live ammunition shooting service is not included in this tour. Today, the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life was like during the U.S.-Vietnam War. You will be able to discover the tunnel systems and learn about this part of Vietnam's past. Afternoon, start your city tour with a visit to the War Remnants Museum to gain deeper insight into Vietnam’s history and the impact of the Vietnam War. Continue to the historic Reunification Palace, a significant landmark marking the end of the war. Then, visit the nearby Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica (outside only) of Saigon and the Saigon Central Post Office, both outstanding examples of French colonial architecture. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
