Day 1 Tirana - Ohrid lake -Voskopoja

We will pick you up from the hotel and then we will start the tour to the southeast of Albania. The first stop is at Ohrid Lake, UNESCO heritage, it is one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes, preserving a unique aquatic ecosystem that is of worldwide importance. Enjoying the view and then visiting the Drilon area and Tushemisht village.
Voskopoja sits 1,200 meters above sea-level and is a perfect place for hiking and walking. In the past, Voskopoja had over twenty Orthodox churches; however now only seven are still standing – complete with 18th frescos, both inside and out they are worth checking out. The landscape of Voskopoja and its surroundings are stunning, and this easy-going hike to the neighboring village of Shipska.

Day 2 Voskopoja - Korca - Lin village - Tirana

After breakfast, we will drive to Korca city. Korça is the city where the largest carnival in Albania is organized, taking place before Orthodox Easter. Musically, the city is known for the local songs, called “serenata”. We’ll get to know the city through a walking tour visiting Museums such as “The National Museum of Medieval Art”, The first Albanian school and the main monument to visit: the Orthodox Cathedral.
After lunch, we will drive to Lin village, it was once called “Lake of Light” perhaps because the light of both the sun and the moon wholly illuminate it's surface year-round. In the evening we are back in Tirana city

Venturing into the breathtaking landscapes around Tiranë was a revelatory experience, especially in Voskopoja, where I stumbled upon a quaint café serving the most delightful local pastry with honey. The serene atmosphere, coupled with the natural wonders of Korça, made every moment feel like a precious escape from daily life. However, I wish there had been a bit more time allocated for each location, as I found myself wanting to linger in those beautiful valleys just a little longer.

Exploring the stunning scenery of Voskopoja was a highlight for us; the charming old churches surrounded by vibrant forests had us captivated. We stayed overnight in cozy accommodations that allowed us to soak in the tranquility of the area, though we wished there had been more variety in dining options. The natural wonders of Korça left us in awe, making this multi-day adventure a memorable escape from the hustle of Tiranë in Albania.

Our two-day journey brought us face-to-face with stunning vistas and the charming essence of the region. While the accommodations were cozy and welcoming, we felt the itinerary could have allowed for a bit more exploration time in the picturesque village we visited.
