The Treasury of the Athenians, built to commemorate the Athenian victory at Marathon.

The Ancient Theatre, offering breathtaking views over the sanctuary and surrounding valley.

  • Overnight and dinner at the hotel

Day 2

Meteora Monasteries

  • This morning you will visit two (2) Meteora Monasteries and then you will have free time for lunch in Kalambaka.

The Meteora is one of Greece's most breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage Sites, renowned for its dramatic sandstone rock formations crowned by centuries-old monasteries. Built between the 14th and 16th centuries, the monasteries were established by monks seeking solitude and spiritual refuge high above the surrounding plains.

Originally, 24 monasteries were built atop the towering cliffs, with only six remaining active today. Visitors can explore several of these remarkable monasteries, admire their Byzantine frescoes, religious treasures, and stunning architecture, while enjoying spectacular panoramic views of the Thessalian landscape.

Meteora is a unique blend of natural beauty, history, and spirituality, making it one of Greece's most iconic and unforgettable destinations.

  • Thermopylae is one of Greece's most historic landmarks, famous as the site of the legendary Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC. Here, King Leonidas of Sparta and his 300 Spartans, alongside a small Greek force, made a heroic stand against the vastly larger Persian army of King Xerxes.

Today, visitors can see the Leonidas Monument, dedicated to the Spartan king and his warriors, as well as the nearby Thermopylae Historical Information Centre, where interactive exhibits bring the famous battle and its historical significance to life.

Surrounded by mountains and the area once known as the "Hot Gates" due to its natural thermal springs, Thermopylae remains a powerful symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of freedom.
