Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi Arrival

  • Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Delhi's airport (DEL). Meet your driver and check into your hotel.

Late Afternoon: Dive straight into Old Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques. From there, take a classic cycle-rickshaw ride through the chaotic, colorful, and historic market lanes of Chandni Chowk.

Evening: Drive past the imposing red sandstone ramparts of the Red Fort on your way to a relaxing dinner.

Day 2

Delhi Full Day Sightseeing

  • Morning: Start fresh at Humayun’s Tomb, a gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage site featuring symmetric Persian-style gardens that later inspired the design of the Taj Mahal.

Mid-Day: Take a smooth drive through the grand, tree-lined avenues of New Delhi to see India Gate (the war memorial), Rashtrapati Bhavan (President's House), and Parliament House.

Afternoon: Head south to explore the Qutub Minar complex, featuring the world's tallest brick minaret surrounded by 12th-century ruins.

Evening: Wind down with some modern shopping or dinner at the circular hub of Connaught Place.

Day 3

Delhi to Varanasi

  • Morning: Catch an early morning domestic flight from Delhi to Varanasi (approx. 1.5 hours). Flying is highly recommended here over the 10+ hour train ride to save your energy.

Afternoon: Arrive in Varanasi, check into your hotel, and take a moment to absorb the high-energy, historic atmosphere of the world's oldest living city.

Sunset: Head down to the bustling banks of the Ganges. Board a small wooden boat to witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat from the water. Watch priests wave massive brass oil lamps to rhythmic chanting.

Day 4

Varanasi

  • Sunrise (approx. 5:30 AM): Take a peaceful morning boat ride along the river. Watching the golden morning light hit the historic ghats while pilgrims perform their morning prayers is unforgettable.

Morning: Explore the narrow, labyrinth-like alleys behind the ghats on foot, catching views of the sacred Kashi Vishwanath (Golden) Temple corridor.

Afternoon: Drive 10 km outside the city to Sarnath, the peaceful deer park where Lord Buddha gave his very first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Explore the ancient brick stupas and the archaeological museum.

Day 5

Varanasi to Agra

  • ransit Strategy: This is your longest transit day. You have two main choices:
The Flight Way: Fly from Varanasi back to Delhi, and have your private driver pick you up at Delhi airport to drive you straight down the 3.5-hour Yamuna Expressway to Agra.
The Train Way: Take a high-speed overnight train or an early morning express train (like the Marudhar Express or Vande Bharat variants) directly into Agra.

Late Afternoon: Arrive in Agra and check into your hotel.

Sunset: Head to Mehtab Bagh (The Moonlight Garden) located across the river to watch the sunset over the Taj Mahal without the intense main-gate crowds.

Day 6

Agra to jaipur

  • Sunrise: Head inside the Taj Mahal gates at dawn. The morning light turns the white marble from soft pink to brilliant white, and it's the coolest time of day to explore. (Note: The Taj is closed on Fridays). Return to the hotel for breakfast.

Late Morning: Tour the sprawling courtyards and red sandstone walls of the Agra Fort, where Mughal emperors once lived.

Afternoon: Begin your 4.5-hour drive to Jaipur. Stop halfway at Fatehpur Sikri, the beautifully preserved, abandoned 16th-century imperial city. Pull into Jaipur by late evening.

Day 7

Jaipur Sightseeing

  • Morning: Beat the crowds by going early to the hilltop Amber Fort. Walk or jeep up to the massive ramparts and marvel at the intricate Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors). Stop for a photo at the floating Jal Mahal (Water Palace) on your way back.

Afternoon: Explore the City Palace complex, which still serves as a royal residence, and the neighboring Jantar Mantar, an outdoor park of massive 18th-century stone astronomical instruments.

Late Afternoon: Stand across from the iconic pink facade of the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) to photograph its 953 honeycombed windows.

Evening: Shop for local block-printed textiles or gemstone jewelry in the vibrant old city bazaars.

Day 8

Jaipur to Delhi Drop

  • Morning: Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel and finish up any last-minute souvenir hunting.

Mid-Day: Begin the 5 to 6-hour drive back to Delhi via the highway.

Late Afternoon/Evening: Your driver drops you off directly at the Delhi International Airport (DEL) or your preferred hotel, concluding your tour.
