6 Day Tanzania Big Five safari

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by your Nihapa Tours representative and transferred to Arusha, Tanzania’s safari gateway. Enjoy a comfortable drive through the beautiful landscapes surrounding Mount Meru while receiving an introduction to your upcoming safari. Upon arrival in Arusha, check in at your hotel and relax after your journey. The rest of the day is free to rest, explore the area or prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight in Arusha.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive toward Tarangire National Park, famous for its enormous elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and diverse wildlife. Once inside the park, begin your first exciting game drive, exploring the savannah, seasonal swamps and river areas where animals gather. Keep an eye out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and a variety of bird species. After an exciting day in the wilderness, continue toward the Karatu area for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, leave Karatu and journey toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, with the scenery becoming increasingly wild as you approach the endless plains of the Serengeti. Enter the park and begin an afternoon game drive, looking for lions, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife. The Serengeti is renowned for its abundant wildlife and spectacular predator-prey encounters. Continue to your accommodation for dinner and overnight surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Serengeti. After an early breakfast, set out with your experienced safari guide for a full-day game drive across the park. With more time in the wilderness, you have excellent opportunities to discover different wildlife areas and observe animals in their natural habitat. Search for the Big Five, watch large herds moving across the plains and look for predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards. Depending on the season and location of the herds, you may also witness spectacular moments of the Great Migration. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, travel to Mto wa Mbu for an active and authentic cultural experience. Explore the village and surrounding countryside by bicycle, passing through local farms, banana plantations and rural communities while experiencing everyday life in Tanzania. Meet local residents, learn about traditional agriculture and discover the diverse cultures that make Mto wa Mbu unique. After the cycling and village tour, enjoy the final moments of your Tanzania adventure before transferring back to Arusha. Your safari ends in Arusha, where you can continue with your onward travel or connect to your next destination.
