🏁 Tour Itinerary: Conquer off-Beaten Paths of Vietnam

Day 1 – Arrival in Vietnam – Hanoi

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you will be welcomed by our driver and transferred to downtown. Check into your hotel and refresh after a long-haul flight.

Day 2 – Hanoi – Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van Village (B, L, D)

Breakfast at your hotel and you will be picked up by a private car and travel to Sapa by road along the highway of Hanoi – Lao Cai. This highway goes through 5 provinces in Vietnam and connects to another highway to China. This route will take you approximately 5.30 to 6 hours including a stop on the way for restroom and relaxing.
Arrive at Sapa town and have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will be transferred to Y Linh Ho Village of the Black Hmong hill tribe where you will start your hiking route. Hike through rice terrace, stream to Lao Chai Village of another Black H’mong group. Start another light trek through Muong Hoa Valley with beautiful scenery to Ta Van Village of Dzay ethnic people. Welcome to your homestay. Dinner will be cooked by your host while you can walk around the village to see the daily life and culture of local people. (basic facilities, sleeping on the shared floor on different mattresses).

Day 3 – Ta Van Village – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Ban Ho (B, L, D)

Leave Ta Van after breakfast for Giang Ta Chai, following a narrow trail that runs among terraced fields for nearly an hour and then gets through the thick bamboo forest, passing a waterfall before arriving at Giang Ta Chai Village of the Red Zao. Explore this quiet village for half an hour, then following the trail to the bottom of the valley, crossing the Muong Hoa River again to other banks, walking uphill to Hoa Su Pan Village of Tay Hill tribe group. Picnic lunch will be served along the way and continue your hiking to Ban Ho Village where you will have dinner at homestay and spend 2nd overnight.

Day 4 – Ban Ho – Nam Toong – Thanh Phu – Sapa (B, L)

After breakfast, hike from Ban Ho trekking up to Nam Toong village. Passing the waterfall in Nam Keng, you will arrive at My Son village home of Xa Pho minority people. Continue trek to Thanh Phu of Tay village. From Thanh Phu, do the trek down the suspension bridge where you will take the car back to Sa Pa.

Remark: Trekking distance: 12km – 6 hours ~ Steep and dirty trails
Level: Hard trek
Car support: Pick up from Thanh Phu to Sapa town

Approx: 7 hours walking/1-hour lunch

 

Day 5 – Sapa – Bac Ha Hill Tribe Market – Xin Man – Hoang Su Phi (B, L, D)

After breakfast, you will proceed to Bac Ha Hill Tribe Market (approximately 2.5 hours). Upon arrival, we visit the big outdoor market with its colorful ethnic minority people, such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, and Dao Tuyen, who gather here to buy and sell their handicraft products. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, leave the town to Xin Man and continue to Hoang Su Phi.

Remark: Bac Ha Hill Tribe Market is only open every Sunday. 

 

Day 6 – Hoang Su Phi – Ha Giang City (B, D)

Breakfast and relax at your lodge, enjoy rustic and amazing scenery before heading to Ha Giang City. Arrive in Ha Giang, you will take 2km more to Tha Village of Tay minority people. Check-in your homestay. Then you will walk around the village with your guide. This is a very peaceful village nestled between lime-cast mountains. People in this village still keep their traditional houses and lifestyle.

Day 7 – Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van (B)

After breakfast, continue up to the North to Dong Van, stop on the way to visit Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Fairy Blossom rising in a valley, Pho Bang – a 300 years-old village of Chinese people with rammed-earth walls and Ying-Yang roof tiles. Visit House of H’mong King before reaching Dong Van.
Upon arrival, walk around Dong Van town, visit the ancient part of the town, market, and rice fields. Enjoy a local coffee at an ancient house and take time for relaxing as well as enjoying the slow living style of local people.

Day 8 – Dong Van – Meo Vac – Ha Giang – 210km – 8 hours (B, D)

After breakfast, you will keep driving to Meo Vac, stop at Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the four highest passes in Vietnam. The scenery in Ma Pi Leng pass is unique with majestic and wild beauty. From the Pass, you can see thousands of gray mountains concatenate to the horizon, and next to the road is an abyss, and the tiny Nho Que River bottoms the huge abyss. Visit Meo Vac town. If luckily you are here on Tiger or Monkey day in our Lunar Calendar, you will have a chance to see the Lung Phin market, the biggest hill tribe market in the Ha Giang area. Then you will travel back to Ha Giang City and drive 5km further to Tien Thang village of Tay minority people.

Day 9 – Ha Giang – Hanoi – 310km – 6 hours (B)

After breakfast, you will visit Tien Thang and Me villages. Those are also very beautiful and peaceful villages. After the visit, you will travel along the highway to Hanoi. This route will take around 6 hours.

Day 10 – Departure from Hanoi (B)

After breakfast, you will be free in Hanoi until being driven to the airport for your departure flight.
