This Turkey tour starts from Istanbul and will take 2 days and 1 night. You will have the chance to visit the highlights of Ephesus and Pamukkale within 2 days. On the first day, will visit the best-preserved one Ancient Ephesus and part of the city, Virgin Mary House, Temple Of Artemis. We continue our trip to visit Pamukkale which means cotton castle. Explore the Hierapolis that for centuries mineral-rich water has flowed over the cliffs creating calcium deposits on the steep slopes and fly back to Istanbul.
🏁 Tour Itinerary: 2 Days Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour from Istanbul
Day 1: Ephesus Tour
According to your flight time, you will have to transfer to Istanbul/Saw Airport and upon arrival in Izmir Airport greeted by your guide and drive directly to mighty Ephesus, the very core of the Aegean in antiquity. This port city, whose well-preserved remains are restored to their former glory, will offer you an unforgettable sight. Walking through this UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was one of the most important Greco-roman settlements and the most prominent trading center in the Mediterranean in ancient times, you’ll get to visit the odeon, the fountains, the temples, the brothel, and the glorious Celsus Library, which was the third biggest library of the ancient world, as well as the agora, the great theatre, the roman baths, the gymnasiums, and many others. Our route will lead you also to The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world built around the perimeter of Ephesus. You’ll get to visit the ruins of the foundations of this marvelous construction from the Hellenistic Age. The Virgin Mary House, which is located on the top of the “Bulbul” mountain, 9 km ahead of Ephesus, is one of the other stops in our itinerary. After seeing the sacred shrine of the Virgin, you’ll enjoy a marvelous atmosphere hidden in the green. It is the place where Mary is believed to have spent her last days. After the tour, we’ll drive to our hotel in Pamukkale, where we’ll check in and stay the night.

Day 2: Pamukkale (B)
At your pick-up time, you’ll be met by your guide and drive to Pamukkale, the center of natural thermal spring waters, which in Turkish translates to “Cotton Castle.” You’ll visit the travertines, the ancient city of Hierapolis, the sacred pool, and will get to discover what this spectacular city has to offer. The beauty of these travertines, which are known to be calcium deposit terraces, will offer you a magnificent sight. The whole area, which is under protection as a UNESCO Mixed Heritage Site, hosts some of the best-preserved examples of Roman architecture. The ancient street that passes through the necropolis, which contains more than a thousand Sarcophagi, will lead you to the inner city where you’ll see the Byzantine Gate, The Domitian Gate, and the baths. And then, you’ll visit the sacred pool, which even the renowned Queen Cleopatra herself came to visit, has natural healing features, and a magical appearance. After the tour, you will be transported to the airport. Upon arrival in Istanbul / Saw Airport, greeted by your driver with a sign that written your name on it and transfers to your hotel.
