This 16 days tour will take you through some of the beautiful and picturesque places of Morocco. It will allow you to explore some of the oldest Medinas and Souks in Morocco, like Fez, Chefchaouen, Meknes, Marrakech. Camel trek on the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert will take you back in time and feel like you are a part of the Caravan group. Crossing the Atlas Mountains will give you a sense of its majesty.

🏁 Tour Itinerary: 16 DAY TOUR AROUND MOROCCO

Day 1: Arrival Casablanca

Following your arrival at Casablanca airport, our representative will meet you to drive to our joining hotels where we will stay for the night in Casablanca.

 

Day 2: Casablanca to Rabat (B)

After breakfast we will visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, which has the tallest minaret and is the third-largest mosque in the world – it can hold 25,000 worshippers at any one time, we will then take a short journey east to the current capital of Morocco, after chick into our hotel and an optional lunch we will start our city tour of Rabat, which will start with the Royal palace, then the visit of Hassan Tower, the minaret of an incomplete mosque. The construction of this incredible structure began in 1195, The tower is beautifully comprised of red sandstone. Next head to the Kasbah of the Udayas, The Palace and Mosques is named after their ancestor Al-Mahdi Ibn Tumart, the rest of the afternoon will be spent in leisure. Overnight in Rabat.

 

Day 3: Rabat To Tangier (B)

After breakfast, we will head north to Tangier, the meeting point between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean. On the arrival, you will have a guided tour of the city followed by free time to enjoy more of it.

 

Day 4: Tangier to Chefchaoune (B)

This morning you can enjoy some free time in the city before we take the road to the blue city Chefchaoune. En route, enjoy some green landscapes of the Rif Mountains.

 

Day 5: Chefchaouen (B)

Today will be an easy day in Chefchaoun to explore one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco, one of the stunning villages at the feet of the Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen medina had a Spanish-style square surrounded by many funky arts and crafts stores, roof-top restaurants, and cafes where you will spend your night in a nice place to enjoy the breeze and the beauty of nature.

 

Day 6: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes (B)

After your breakfast in the hotel/ riad, our exciting journey will start towards Volubilis, crossing Wazzan and other Rif villages. In Volubilis, we will visit the Roman ruins and learn about the archeological site and its Morrocan history. After visiting the ruins, we will make our way to Meknes, a city with a 17th-century heritage. We will stop here for lunch and hang out at the historic huge walls of the medina and Bab el Mansour. After the visit to Meknes, we will drive directly to Fes city, where you will spend the night.

 

Day 7: Fes Sightseeing (B)

After breakfast in your riad, you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with a cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the world, the Tanneries, the Attarine madrassa, and MulayIdriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes.

 

Day 8: Fes to Midelt (B, D)

After breakfast, you will leave Fes traveling towards Ifran, a beautiful mountain village, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then on to Midelt. During this journey, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may sight Barbary apes. After some time within the forest, your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and the Atlas Mountains where you will be staying for the night before the Sahara Desert.  

 

Day 9: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga (B, D)

After breakfast in your hotel, you will travel to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud. You will be traveling through the fascinating TizNtalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas Mountains. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia, where you will have lunch and enjoy the Berber hospitality. Afterward, you will travel along the Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud. Upon your arrival to Merzouga in the afternoon, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before you start your camel ride to spend an overnight at the desert Berber camp.

 

Day 10: Merzouga – Toudra Gorges (B, D)

Your camel man will wake you up early in the morning to watch what will may be the best sunrise of your life.  En-route you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast, you’ll leave for Tinghir, and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco and it is the place where you are going to spend the night. After lunch in the heart of the gorge, we’ll enjoy some free time before we go to explore the gorges on foot.

 

Day 11: Toudra Gorges – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (B, D)

After breakfast in the hotel, you will travel through the Dades Valley towards KalaaM’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is called the road of the thousand kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip in both the valleys of Dades and roses and the cinema studio of Ouarzazate. After lunch we are going to head toward the village of Ait Benhaddou which is one of the oldest villages in the south of Morocco, now, the village is one of the UNESCO heritage sites and it is used as a background for many international movies such as Gladiator and Prince of Persia. We will spend the night in Aithbenhaddou.

 

Day 12: Ait Benhaddou to Marrakech (B)

We traverse the High Atlas today enjoying stunning views en route to Marrakech. Marrakech set against the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. Its great pride and landmark are the Koutoubia Tower, sister to the Tower of Hassan in Rabat, and the Giralda Tower in Seville. The rest of the day will be at leisure.

 

Day 13: Marrakech Sightseeing (B)

After breakfast, we will begin our full-day sightseeing tour of Marrakech, the second-largest city in Morocco also known as the pearl of the south. Visit of historical Marrakech, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia Minaret, and Majorelle Gardens named after the famous french painter who constructed here his art deco villa and started the botanical gardens. In 1980 it became the residence of Yves Saint Laurent. Afternoon, visit the famous Djemaa El Fna square with its surrounding souks and handicraft quarters, Overnight: Marrakech Optional dinner with fantasia show.

Day 14: Marrakech to Essaouira (B)

Today we make our way to Essaouira. Upon arrival, you can choose to relax by the beach or to explore the UNESCO-listed medina with its various souks and wood carving workshops. Any city gate leads to the Medina, so you’re unlikely to get lost. The beach is in front of the Medina and there are plenty of cafés with terraces, both ideals for relaxing for a few hours. Blue doors and window frames abound as do the artist’s shops, try your bargaining skills or sit on the beach sipping a mint tea as the sun sets, an antidote to the bustle of the Imperial Cities. During our time here there’s the option to take part in horse trekking or quad biking or cooking class in a local family’s house.

 

Day 15: Essaouira to Casablanca (B)

It is time to leave Essaouira and head up to Casablanca, en-route we will have lunch in the fabulous city Eloualidia and then pass by the city of El Jadida built and named by the Portuguese as Mazagan. At the end of the day, we will be in Casablanca overnight.

 

Day 16: Airport (B)

After breakfast in Casablanca, we are going to enjoy an easy morning before you get your taxi to the airport of Casablanca.

    The places visited where fantastic. We loved the variety of places selected. the guide was an excellent tour leader providing good advice, information and assistance when needed. He is very patient and considerate.
