If you are looking for a memorable Nepal holiday experience, this Langtang trek is a very rewarding choice. Langtang Valley Trek starts from Syabru Besi, the headquarters of Rasuwa district. After two days of a walk from there, we reach Langtang village. We move on from the village to Kyangjin Gompa. From Kyanjin Gompa, trek for a day to reach Tesku Ri (4984m). Climb this famous trekking peak of Nepal and enjoy the celestial view of the Langtang range and other Himalayan scenery of glaciers and peaks. Alternately, trek for about half a day from there to reach Yala, where you can visit the famous Yala Cheese Factory.

We just returned from an amazing 10 day trek in the Langtang region of Nepal. Last April’s (2015) earthquake devastated the region and we heard it was closed and unsafe for Trekkers. But we were pleasantly surprised to find out that the region was open and welcoming. Certainly the signs of destruction due to avalanche and landslides triggered by the earthquake were evident. Nearly everyone we met had a story of survival or tragedy to relate. But the area also resonates with the sounds of rebuilding.

Given the short time we had available for trekking (10 days) and the difficulty of traveling by road to the remote regions outside Kathmandu, the Langtang region (north of Kathmandu) was the ideal choice. We also experienced a wide variety of landscapes, villages, guest houses, and people which made the cultural experience interesting and rich.

The key to the success and enjoyment of our trip was due to staff at Outdoor Himalayan. Our guide (Gorkinda) expertly charted our path along the safe (albeit longer sometimes) routes. Support was kindly received from two jolly porters who we also fell in love with (especially Neema).

Rammani (Ram) will help you to plan your personalized ideal trek. Having grown up in a remote village, Ram worked his way from Porter to licensed guide to partner at Outdoor Himalayan, so he knows what he is recommending. We felt that Ram was concerned with our enjoyment and well-being – not just selling us a ‘package’.

Overall we highly recommend Outdoor Himalayan and the Langtang region. If you have the chance to travel in Nepal try trekking. You’ll have an experience of a lifetime.

We booked a trip to Langtang via Outdoor. In the office we had contact with Ram Rijal who gave us good information and organized a good trip. We were very much satisfied and were content with our guide Ram Kumar Sunar. He is a well experient, good humoured guy who took good care of us without pushing. As we were satisfied with this office and with this guide we booked also the ABC trek here. Together with Ram and porter Rishnu Parsad Sapkota we had another good trekking. Every evening they provided us with fresh fruit. For many other travelers this was reason to look at our plates and search on the menu, but this was one of the specialities of our guide.
We do recomment Outdoor Himalayan Treks for booking a Himalaya trek.
