🏁 Tour Itinerary: Kenya Family Safari Tour

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi

Today is your arrival day in Nairobi and you will be met by our meet and greet representative and be transferred to Ole-Sereni Hotel or similar, booked on bed and breakfast.

Day 2: Nairobi –Masai Mara (L, D)

Depart Nairobi at around 07:30 am and drive to the Maasai Mara crossing the Loita plains, see red-clad Maasai warriors tend their multi-colored herds amongst plains game. Arrive at Mara in time for lunch. Game viewing en route to Mara Sopa lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge (mid-range lodge bordering Maasai Mara National Reserve without fences.

 Day 3: Masai Mara Full Day (B, L, D)

On this, you will have morning and afternoon game viewing inside the park. You will search for wild game black manned lion, which Mara is famous for, cheetah, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, grants gazelle are quite common, even the rare rhino might come out of the thicket for you, hyenas are also plentiful. Extend your drive to the hippo point where schools of hippo submerge on the approach of vehicles only to surface seconds later to short and gamble their displeasure as the crocodiles sunbathe on the river banks’ mouths agape. Between meals, there is an optional visit to the Maasai Village for an insight into their culture if clients so wish. Meals and overnight will be at Mara Sopa Lodge, a mid-range lodge bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve without fences Meals and drinks: All meals and drinking water are included (Other drinks are not included).

Day 5: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park (B, L, D)

Today, you will have an early morning game viewing drive searching for any wild game you might have missed previously. You will have breakfast at the lodge and depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. You will be arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon game drives at the Pink Lake. Referred so for its thousands of pink flamingos and another birdlife. It’s a bird watcher’s paradise. It has a surprising number of animals, all the Big Five except the elephant can be seen here. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge mid-range lodge located inside Lake Nakuru National Park Meals and drinks: All meals and drinking water are included (other drinks are not included).

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park – Lake Naivasha (B, L, D)

Next, we overland to papyrus-fringed Lake Naivasha. With over 400 species of bird, this freshwater lake is a birding Paradise. Along the lake’s fabled waters, we are bound to see some of the area’s more intriguing species—hippos, giraffes, buffalo, and even the arboreal colobus monkey. Lake Naivasha lies in the Great Rift Valley and the name derives from the local Masai name Nai’posha, meaning “rough water” because of the sudden storms which can arise. After lunch, we visit Crescent island — a private sanctuary, where you can walk beneath yellow-barked acacias (yellow fever trees) in search of giraffes, wildebeest, impala, dik-diks, Thompson’s and grant’s gazelles, elands, waterbucks, and countless bird species.
Oh, and there are some rather gigantic pythons too! We are allowed to walk with the animals since all were introduced during the filming of Out of Africa. An optional boat ride on the lake reveals many waterbird species and schools of Hippos.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park (B, L, D)

You will have breakfast at the lodge and depart for Nairobi with game viewing en route as you leave the park. You will have lunch in Nairobi (at the Carnivore Restaurant 40 USD per person) and proceed to Amboseli at the foot of the mighty snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Game viewing en route to the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge mid-range lodge bordering Amboseli National Park without fences Meals and drinks: Breakfast, dinner (lunch is not included), and drinking water are included (other drinks not included).

Day 8: Amboseli National Park (B, L, D)

Two game drives are scheduled for this day. The open flat plains are ideal places to search for pride of lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, zebras, and wildebeests. The swamps are good places to catch the elephants as they bathe in the mud. There are a wealth and diversity of bird species. Also, discover the African Culture by visiting a local Masai Village.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park – Nairobi (B)

After breakfast in the morning, we depart by road to Nairobi arriving early afternoon.
