Itinerary
Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond Boat Cruise, and Midhope Castle
Departing Glasgow, your Loch Lomond tour begins with a short drive to the striking Kelpies — two towering horse sculptures that celebrate Scotland’s working horses and engineering heritage.
Next, you’ll continue to Midhope Castle, known to Outlander fans as the filming location for Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser’s family home. Stroll around the peaceful estate, take in the atmospheric surroundings, and capture photos of this iconic setting. While you can’t go inside, standing at the gates of “Lallybroch” feels like stepping straight into the series.
Your journey then leads to Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s most significant historical landmarks. With plenty of time to explore, you can wander through grand halls, admire sweeping views, and uncover stories from Scotland’s royal past.
Later in the afternoon, unwind in the charming town of Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond. Breathe in the fresh lochside air, enjoy the cruise for a serene end to your day before returning to Glasgow in the late afternoon.
Meet at the Buchanan Street Bus Station. Stance 23 to 32 (look out for a blue bus) Buchanan Street Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow, G2 3NW.
