Itinerary
Step 1
8:00 AM - Pick up from your hotel in Rajkot by your private vehicle and start your journey towards Somnath, which is approximately 200 kilometers from Rajkot.
Step 2
10:30 AM - Arrive in Somnath and start your tour by visiting the renowned Somnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (sacred abodes of Lord Shiva) and is known for its religious significance and architectural splendor. Explore the temple complex, which includes the main temple, the Nandi mandap, and the Sabha mandap. Marvel at the intricate carvings, sculptures, and artwork on the walls, pillars, and ceilings of the temple, and learn about its history and mythology from your knowledgeable guide.
Step 3
12:00 PM - Visit Bhalka Tirtha, a sacred site associated with Lord Krishna. It is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna was mistakenly shot with an arrow by a hunter named Jara, and it is marked by a temple and a sacred pond. The temple houses a black stone idol of Lord Krishna in a reclining posture, and the pond is believed to have healing properties.
Step 4
1:00 PM - Enjoy a scrumptious lunch at one of the local restaurants in Somnath, where you can savor the flavors of Gujarat's cuisine. You can try local specialties like Dhokla, Khandvi, and Thepla, or opt for other popular Indian dishes.

2:00 PM - Visit the Somnath Museum, which showcases the history, culture, and heritage of Somnath and its surrounding areas. The museum exhibits a collection of artifacts, sculptures, and paintings that provide insights into the rich cultural heritage of the region. 3:00 PM - Explore the beaches of Somnath, such as Geeta Mandir Beach or Somnath Patan Beach, where you can relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Arabian Sea. Step 7
4:30 PM - Visit Paanch Pandav Caves, a group of five ancient caves located near Somnath. These caves are believed to be associated with the five Pandava brothers from the Hindu epic Mahabharata and are known for their intricate carvings and sculptures. The caves have mythological and historical significance and offer a glimpse into the rich history and mythology of the region. Explore the caves and learn about the stories and legends associated with them from your guide.
Step 8
6:00 PM - Depart from Somnath and head back to Rajkot, where your day tour comes to an end.
