Itinerary
Step 1
8:30 AM - Pick up from your hotel in Rajkot and start your journey towards Junagadh.
Step 2
10:30 AM - Arrive in Junagadh and begin your tour by visiting the Uparkot Fort. Explore the fort, which dates back to the Mauryan era, and marvel at its impressive architecture, including the ancient gateways, walls, and temples. Don't miss the Buddhist caves, the Adi Kadi Vav stepwell, and the beautiful Jama Masjid mosque located within the fort complex.
Step 3
12:00 PM - Proceed to Mahabat Maqbara, a beautiful palace-mausoleum known for its unique Islamic and Gothic architecture. Admire the intricate carvings, beautiful domes, and minarets of this grand structure. Explore the beautiful gardens and courtyards surrounding the mausoleum and learn about the historical significance of this landmark.
Step 4
1:30 PM - Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants in Junagadh, where you can savor the flavors of Gujarat's cuisine.
Step 5
2:30 PM - After lunch, depart for Somnath, a famous pilgrimage site in Gujarat. It will take approximately 2 hours to reach Somnath.
Step 6
4:30 PM - Arrive in Somnath and visit the renowned Somnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (sacred abodes of Lord Shiva) and is known for its religious significance and architectural splendor. Explore the temple complex and learn about its history, mythology, and legends associated with Lord Shiva.
Step 7
5:30 PM - Visit the nearby Parshuram Temple, dedicated to the sage Parshuram, who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This temple is known for its serene ambiance and beautiful location overlooking the Arabian Sea.
Step 8
6:00 PM - Proceed to Bhalka Tirtha, a sacred site associated with Lord Krishna. It is believed that Lord Krishna was accidentally hit by an arrow here and left his mortal body. Pay your respects at the temple, which marks the spot where Lord Krishna is said to have departed from this world.
Step 9
6:30 PM - Visit the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three holy rivers - Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati. Take a holy dip and offer prayers at this auspicious site, which is considered to be highly significant in Hindu mythology.
Step 10
7:00 PM - Depart from Somnath and head back to Rajkot, where your day trip comes to an end.
