Itinerary
ITINERARY
At the indicated time we will meet on our meeting point to start the tour and we will go to the pre-Columbian city of Chan Chan, a pre-Hispanic adobe settlement belonging to the Chimú kingdom.
- For one hour, we will visit the Nik Ann Palace, full of monochromatic reliefs. When you arrive, you can admire small statues and the impressive adobe walls of the temple decorated with high reliefs showing dragons with open mouths.
- Then you will visit the Chan Chan Site Museum, to delve into the history of the ancient civilizations that lived in this area through ceramic objects, textiles and small statues and religious figures. They are very valuable information about the pre-Columbian history of Peru.
- After visiting Chan Chan, we will go to the Huanchaco beach, a beach known worldwide for its fierce waves. Its name comes from the word "guaukocha", which means "golden fish lagoon."
- In Huanchaco, you will have an hour of free time to eat or relax walking along the shore. While you walk along the beach and the promenade of this old fishing cove you will be able to see the curious "caballitos de totora:, traditional boats that the fishermen of the area have been using for centuries, since the times of the Mochica and Chimú civilizations. Boats made from a plant from the area. It will surely surprise you!
From Huanchaco we will finally return to Trujillo.
