ITINERARY
The Trujillo city tour begins with a visit to the main square of Trujillo, (founded in 1534). There we will appreciate its beautiful ornamentation, as well as its statue (sculpture of a man who snorts). Through the professional tour guide we will learn more about its history, its creation (by the German artist Edmund Moeller.
Next, we will go to the Trujillo Cathedral (built in 1646), a Churrigueresque-style construction, which maintains a striking yellow color on its facades. Together with the tour guide we will appreciate its structures, treasures and historical importance.
Also, we will pass by the Urquiaga house, today transformed into a museum that contains different pieces from the pre-Columbian era, from the colony and from the time of emancipation from Spain.
In the last part of the tour, we will pass by the Iturregui Palace and Plaza El Recreo, where the first pool that Trujillo had is located, a marble fountain carved in the Italian Baroque style and which was originally in the main square.
After this, we will end the tour and we will be free to continue walking through the city, or return to our hotels to rest.
