Itinerary

Day 1
  • Pickup from your Hotel/Location

  • of Kigali and a visit to the Kigali genocide Museum

    Pick up form Airport, Hotel or any location within Kigali. In case you are picked in the Morning, you can enjoy a bonus city drive around tour of Kigali and a visit to the Kigali genocide Museum.

    around Kigali is marked by small skyscrapers, Motorcycle’s buzz around. People walk about, dressed well, with friendly smiles on their faces.

    Kigali, is a wonderful city and unlike most capital cities in Africa. This bustling metropolitan area in Rwanda is very clean and safe.

  • The Kigali’s Genocide is a tear-inducing museum, with giant wall displays, archival documents, photos, video footage and weapons encased in glass, which sheds light on the Rwandan genocide, as well its pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial roots.

    After Lunch you will drive to the Volcanoes national park (2 Hour Drive). Check in to your hotel, relax have Dinner in readiness for your Gorilla Trek.

Day 2

Gorilla Trek

    Gorilla treks take place in the morning and depart from the Park Headquarters at around 07:30am.

    Prior to departure you are given a briefing by park staff, assigned a gorilla family to visit and rangers to guide you.

    The treks take place on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes and clients should be in good physical condition as some of the trek can be physically demanding.

    The treks normally start in the cultivated land on the base of the volcanoes and then you are guided up into the beautiful dense misty forests.

    The trek normally lasts between 2 and 5 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family and a maximum of eight visitors is allowed per gorilla family.

    Once you reach the gorillas you are permitted to stay for one hour to view them. The minimum age for gorilla trekking in Rwanda is 16 years

    After the experience you will trek down Volcanoes and have lunch at a local restaurant, followed by the return journey to your drop off location within Kigali.
