Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to the coastal town of Negombo. Located along Sri Lanka’s western shoreline, Negombo is famous for its fishing traditions, colonial heritage, and palm-fringed beaches. After your international flight, enjoy a relaxed day settling into your hotel and preparing for the cycling adventure ahead. The remainder of the day is free to unwind, stroll along the beach, or explore the lively seaside atmosphere.

Day 2
Negombo to Chilaw Cycling Ride – Transfer to Sigiriya

After breakfast, begin your first cycling experience along Sri Lanka’s western coastal belt. Ride through traditional fishing villages, coconut estates, lagoons, and rural settlements as you make your way toward Chilaw. The route offers relatively flat terrain, making it an ideal introduction to cycling in Sri Lanka while showcasing authentic local life. Following the ride, continue to Sigiriya, the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, surrounded by forests, lakes, and ancient heritage sites.

Cycle through the beautiful landscapes surrounding Minneriya, Higurakgoda, and Polonnaruwa while passing reservoirs, farming communities, and ancient irrigation systems. The route offers excellent opportunities to observe rural life and birdlife. Those interested may also climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress or explore the impressive ruins of Polonnaruwa. In the afternoon, an optional Minneriya Safari provides opportunities to observe wild elephants and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
