Alexander Nevsky Park
Church of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky
The Church of Alexander Nevsky, built in 1833 in Byzantine style, is the only operating military church in Pridnestrovie and one of the oldest religious buildings in Bender. It survived the Revolution of 1917, the period of Romanian and fascist occupation. During Soviet times, just as in other Pridnestrovian churches, the Orthodox services ceased, and the church building was turned over to a soldier’s club. As such, it existed until the mid-1990s.

The building of the Supreme Council and the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic
This monumental building was built in 1983 for the Tiraspol City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. A long series of marble steps leads to a huge building in the historical center of Tiraspol, the building itself clearly represents architectural trends of the late USSR.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a branch of a state university was located here. Since 1991, the Supreme Council has been sitting in the building – the Parliament of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
For a long time, the Administration of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was located here, and since 2012 the Government of the Republic has been located here.
Green market Tiraspol
Explore the Green Market in Tiraspol and sample a variety of local foods.
Memorial of Glory
The Glory Memorial appeared on the central square of Tiraspol near the Dniester River in 1972. The authors of the project were architects Garry Fаif and Leonid Fishbein.
The memorial complex of Glory was opened on February 23, 1972, the day of the Soviet Army and Navy. Then a ceremonial reinternment took place: reburied were the remains of Soviet soldiers and officers – natives of Pridnestrovie- who fell on the fields of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the soldiers who died during the liberation of Pridnestrovie.
Franz De Wollant Public Garden
Franz Pavlovich De Wollant (1752–1818) – engineer of the Russian army, the author of the first master plan for the construction of the future capital of Pridnestro- vie – Tiraspol.
The square, which bears the name of the first architect of Tiraspol, opened on October 14, 2007. Tiraspol residents and guests of the capital love to be here as the square is perfectly located – right between the Dniester embankment and the central square of Tiraspol.
Monument to A.V. Suvorov
The hallmark of Tiraspol is the monument to Alexander Suvorov with which the grateful descendants immortalized the memory of their city founder.
The monument was inaugurated over 40 years ago, on November 23, 1979, on the eve of great commander’s birthday celebration. The authors of the 9-meter bronze statue were brothers Vladimir and Valentin Artamonov, while the monument design was performed by architects L. Druzhinin and Yu. Chistyakov.
Tiraspol Suvorov is recognized as one of the best monuments to the Generalissimo in the USSR. It was awarded the gold medal named after the sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich (the author of the famous sculpture “The Motherland Calls!” on Mamaev Kurgan in Volgograd), as well as the medal of the USSR Academy of Arts.
