Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Paro and Trek to Jele Dzong
-
This is the first day of your trek. It is a long day as we have to climb more than 1,000m elevation. We commence our hike from the Ta Dzong (National Museum) in Paro. The trek encompasses through gravel road past a few farms for about 30 minutes of time frame. After which it climbs up a steep ridge before leading through blue pine and fir forests to Damche Gom. Once we reach the ridge below Jili Dzong we will descend down about 100m to the campsite below Jele Dzong.
Day 2 Trek from Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha
-
The second day of trek starts with a climb for about an hour followed by the gradual ascend. The less travelled route takes you amidst the thick alpine forest and dwarf rhododendron trees. One may encounter yaks and yak herders around the campsite.
Day 3 Trek from Jangchulakha to Jimilang Tsho
-
This is the 3rd day of our Druk Path Trek where the trail follows the ridge. On a clear day, the awe-inspiring vistas of the mountains and valley look mesmerizing. Our campsite is close to the Jimilang Tsho Lake which better known for its giant sized trout.
Day 4 Trek from Jimilang Tsho to Simkotra Tsho
-
Today is your 4th day of our trek. Today we will take you through dwarf rhododendron trees and Janetso Lake. One may come across some yak herder’s camps where you will have the opportunity to capture the best shots in travel genre. Like yesterday, the campsite will be close to Simkotra Tsho Lake.
Day 5 Trek from Simkotra Tsho to Phadjoding
-
As like previous days, the 5th day of trek commences with a gradual ascend. If the weather allows, we will have a spectacular view of Mount Gangkar Puensum, the highest mountain of Bhutan and other mountains. From here, the trek proceeds downhill to Phadjoding for a night halt. The camping site is above Phadjoding.
Day 6 Trek from Phadjoding to Thimpu
-
After undergoing through the Phadjoding monastery, the trek expands to Thimphu (Mothitang), all the way downstairs through a forested area, dominated with blue pine foresta. The walk, with a leisurely pace, takes about three hours. (Distance four to five kms, three hours, 1,130 m descent).
