About This Tour

This tour will involve you in the 4-day adventure of exploring one of the most beautiful parts in Sapa areas. Joining this tour, you will have the chance to enjoy the beauty of valleys under the protection of Hoang Lien mountain range. You will also be able to meet and participate in the everyday activities of the local ethnic minorities in Sapa, such as the Tay, Xa Pho and Red Dao people.

    Day 1 Laocai - Ben Den - Trek from Ta Thang Village to Sin Chai B Village

    At around 6:00 am, you will arrive at Lao Cai train station. There, you will be greeted and picked up by a local tour guide.

    Then, you will be taken to a local restaurant to have breakfast. This meal is optional.

    After breakfast and a short rest, you will be transferred to Ta Thang village, which is the starting point of the coming 8-hour trekking. It will take you about 1 hour to get there.

    This trekking adventure will take you through the beautiful lush bamboo forest and green jungle. You will be marvel at the fantastic beauty of nature on the way of the journey.

    When you reach the village of Nam Phang, you will stop here for lunch
    After lunch and a rest, you will start the afternoon program by continuing the trekking journey to reach the homestay in Sin Chai B village where the Red Dao ethnic minority people are living.

    Coming here, you will spend time strolling around and exploring the village. You may see the local people (Red Dao ethnic people) tending the fields or working in the nearby forest. You can even interact with them with the support of the local guide. In addition, you will definitely enjoy the stunning beauty of scenic valley on the way along the village.
    You will have dinner and spend a night in a local house in the village.

    Day 2 Sin Chai B Village – Thanh Phu Village – Nam Nhiu - Nam Than - Nam Sai Village

    At about 8:00 am, after having breakfast, you will leave Sin Chai B village to start the
    ’s adventure.

    This trekking route will take you through some small hill tribe villages inhabited by some ethnic minorities, such as the Red dao, Tay, Xafo and Black Hmong ones.

    En route, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the fantastic sceneries of Nam Sai and Nam Cang valleys. In addition, passing by and paying visits to the hill tribe villages, you can observe and learn more about the daily activities, traditions and customs of the ethnic minority people in remote areas of Sapa.

    The final destination of the second day’s journey is Nam Sai village of the Tay people. Coming here, you will firstly check in the homestay; then, having a short rest and enjoy an easy walk around the village to explore this tranquil and charming village.

    Day 3 Nam Sai - Nam Sang - Nam Ngan - Ta Trung Ho

    , after having breakfast, you will leave Nam Sai village to continue the trekking adventure.

    You will trek downhill to reach Nam Sang village where the Xa Pho ethnic minority people are living.

    Coming here, you will experience a very interesting way of exploring the everyday activities of the local by paying visits to the local families. The Xa Pho ethnic group is one of the smallest ones in Sapa with the whole population of approximately 4000 people. This is a sub group of the Phu La ethnic group.

    Leaving Nam Sang, you will keep on going uphill on the same trail in about 1.5 hours. You will trek through the forest to reach Nam Ngan village which is inhabited by the Red Dao ethnic people
    You will stop at the top of a mountain in the forest to have lunch.

    After having lunch and a short rest, you will start the afternoon adventure by trekking on a challenging narrow dirt trail on steep hill side. You will sneak through the narrow and sharp canyon from the height of 950m up to nearly 1,700m in the whole afternoon to get put your foot on Ta Trung Ho village. This village is inhabited by the Red Dao ethnic group, and you will stay here for overnight.

    Day 4 Ta Trung Ho – Nam Toong – Ban Ho – Sapa

    On the last day, you will have an early breakfast at Ta Trung Ho village before starting the other trekking adventure. You will start from the fringe of the rain forest situated by the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. And for your information, Fansipan, which is considered the roof of Indochina with its height of 3140m, is local on this mountain range as well.

    You will trek uphill to reach Nam Toong village where the Red Dao ethnic minority people are living. Coming here, you will be shown around the village by the locals. Your lunch will be prepared and serve in a local school in the village.

    After lunchtime, you will continue the afternoon program by trekking downhill to head to Ban Ho village. Here you can stop by a waterfall to have a refreshing rest. Then, you will be transferred back to Sapa by car. The tour ends when you arrive at Sapa.

      Embarking on this trekking journey through the stunning landscapes of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture was an experience I won’t soon forget. The trails wound through vibrant ethnic villages, where I had the chance to interact with the locals and learn about their rich traditions and customs. Each meal was a delight, showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients that truly made me feel connected to the culture. I particularly enjoyed the warm hospitality of my guides, who shared stories that deepened my appreciation for the area. However, there were moments when the trails became a bit challenging, which might not suit everyone. Still, those little hurdles were overshadowed by the breathtaking valleys and panoramic views that awaited at every turn. Overall, the adventure was a perfect blend of trekking and cultural immersion, making it a memorable solo experience.

      Venturing through the ethnic villages and scenic valleys of Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture was a delightful escape. Each day brought new trails and vibrant local cultures that I found fascinating; the hospitality of the villagers left a lasting impression. The overnight stays were cozy, offering a chance to connect with fellow trekkers under starlit skies. However, I did find some of the trails a bit challenging at times, which may not suit everyone. Still, the breathtaking views and unique experiences made every step worthwhile.
