Distance of the trail: 3.7 miles Difficulty: Easy Total elevation of the trail: 246 feet. Pick up at hotel to go to the Lago Sarmiento Entrance, where we will begin our trek of near 6 km (3.7 miles). We will follow a softly inclined track, with a view of the Sarmiento Lake, hunting area of the puma.
After walking for 1 hour, we will see rock paintings of about 6000 years old. Hunter groups that were the first inhabitants of Patagonia frequented this place.
Then, we will go on to the Blanquillos Lagoon, nesting place of different birds. After 3 hours of trek, we will reach the Laguna Amarga Entrance, where we will be able to see the watercolour variation because of the sediment and minerals. Here we will enjoy our box lunch, with a view of the Torres del Paine. Finally, we will pass by the Cañadón Macho, natural habitat of guanacos' groups, in the way back to the city of Puerto Natales.

I spent four days trekking through some of the most breathtaking landscapes I’ve ever seen, with stunning peaks and vibrant lakes that seemed to change colors with every hour. The accommodations were cozy, and I appreciated how they provided a perfect base after long days of hiking. My only gripes were the occasional weather surprises that made the trails a bit tricky, and I would have liked more variety in the meals served, but overall, it was a truly unforgettable experience.

Trekking through Torres del Paine National Park was a breathtaking experience that truly connected me with nature. The overnight stays in cozy refugios allowed me to recharge after long days on the trails, while the stunning views of the iconic peaks took my breath away. My only hiccup was the sometimes unpredictable weather, but it only added to the adventure—just be prepared for anything!
