At 09:00 your licentiate Guide will meet you at the lobby bar to start the way to Transnistria, at 10: 30 cross the border to Transnistria, and welcome to the country that doesn't exist!!!
In the morning, you will discover Tighina Fortress located in Tighina town and built in the 15th century by the prince of Moldova, Stephen the Great. Originally built as a small wooden fort, it was later fortified in stone by the prince of Moldova, Petru Rares.
In the building of the old Turkish powder magazine, on the territory of the citadel (the only surviving Turkish building in the citadel), a museum of the Bendery fortress has been created and operates. A huge room with an area of over 200 sq. m., like the fortress itself, has its own secrets.
The military-historical memorial complex in the city of Bendery was opened on October 7, 2008.
It was erected on the site of an old military cemetery, where the remains of many soldiers of the Russian Imperial Army who died in the wars of the 18-20th centuries were laid to rest.
The Triumphal Arch appeared in Bendery on Ermakov Street, almost at the entrance to the city, on October 7, 2008, on the eve of the city’s 600th anniversary.
In the upper part of the Triumphal arch there is a bas-relief with a double-headed eagle. On the columns, one can see decorative military attributes: a helmet, an axe, a poleaxe, which embody the glory of Russian weapons.
In the center of the park, there is a bust of the great Russian prince and famous commander Alexander Nevsky who was previously at the walls of the military church. From the monument, the paths like rays lead to the military church and the citadel, exhibition hall, stage, playround and roller drome, and other facilities of the park. In early 2019, the Old Bastion Hotel and restaurant complex, built in the old Turkish style, was opened in the park near the Main (Tsaregrad) Gate.
Located opposite the Gorky cinema.
Near the current Gorky cinema, next to the hotel Petrograd there was a Capitol cinema until the middle of the 20th century. In 1954, the construction of a new building was started under the project of the chief architect of the city V.P. Mednek – the author of the master plan of post-war development of Bendery.
In 1992, the city entrance from Tiraspol became a place of heavy fighting of the defenders of Pridnestrovie with the invading armed units of Moldova.
It was decided to commemorate the fallen residents of Bendery here – at the Memorial of Commemoration and Sorrow.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the republic, Tiraspol was transformed beyond recognition. The new Catherine Park is located in the very center of the capital city. It is symbolic that the park was named after the Russian empress who signed the decree to found Tiraspol.
Tiraspol is a city that portraits very well a classical soviet city, both in terms of monuments and in terms of city decoration and ideological tools used. Many tourist are interested in this kind of heritage.
The statue of Alexander Suvorov was erected in the central square in 1979 in commemoration of his 250th anniversary
This monumental building was built in 1983 for the Tiraspol City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. A long series of marble steps leads to a huge building in the historical center of Tiraspol, the building itself clearly represents architectural trends of the late USSR.
This is one of the most recognizable and magnificent buildings in Tiraspol. Its parameters are impressive: more than 200 rooms and the area of the main hall is almost 300 square meters.
