Alagalla Mountain Range or “Potato Range” is situated at the boundaries of the Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces in Sri Lanka. Immersing myself in the lush landscapes around Alagalla while venturing through the quaint Saradiyel village was a highlight of my journey, where I found both the thrill of trekking and the warmth of local hospitality.

Our time exploring the village of Saradiyel and trekking Alagalla was truly refreshing, with breathtaking views that made each step memorable. We stayed in a cozy guesthouse that felt like home, where the warm hospitality and local cuisine really added to the experience. One small suggestion for improvement would be to enhance the trek guides’ storytelling, as a bit more history about the area would have made the adventure even richer.

Trekking up Alagalla was an exhilarating challenge, and I found the views absolutely breathtaking. The local meals in Saradiyel were a delightful surprise, though I would have loved a bit more variety in the food options during the tour.

The Saradiyel village experience was a perfect blend of cultural immersion and adventure, allowing me to truly appreciate the local lifestyle. Trekking through the Alagalla mountain range provided stunning views and a satisfying workout, just what I needed to escape the city. My accommodation was cozy, and the host made me feel right at home, which added a personal touch to the stay. I especially loved the chance to interact with the villagers and learn about their traditions. One suggestion I have would be to include an additional guide for the trekking portion, as it sometimes felt a bit rushed. Overall, this trip was a memorable escape from Colombo that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique adventure.
