Tour description:
On the South Coast, you will have a taste of all the best of Iceland. Trolls, elves, glaciers, diamonds, volcanoes, caves, waterfalls, and so much more. You have the chance to have it all in one day and with a private local Viking to show you and tell you all the great stories it has.
After being picked up from a place of your choice in Reykjavik, you will head on to this magical tour. While driving to the South Coast, listen to your guide tell you stories of elves and trolls.
Your first stop is Seljalandsfoss waterfall. It is famous for the walking trail that leads behind it where on sunny days, you can see a rainbow coming over the waterfall on the other side. The water in this waterfall runs from the volcanic glacier Eyjafjallajökull.
Skógafoss waterfall is next. This is truly one of Iceland's most magical waterfalls. The water in this waterfall runs from the glacier that lies on top of Iceland's most powerful volcano. One scene in Game of Thrones was filmed by this waterfall.
Next up is the Katla Ice Cave, partially hidden under the Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
Another place where a scene from Game of Thrones was filmed is the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. It is known for its heavy landscape and black basaltic rocks in the mountain towering over the beach.
Finally, is the Glacier Lagoon filled with huge floating icebergs and seals, with the Diamond Beach next to it, the black sand beach filled with diamonds.

Exploring the stunning ice caves was definitely the highlight of our day in Skaftafell, as the shimmering blue walls felt like stepping into another world. We were captivated by the breathtaking views of the glaciers, and walking along Diamond Beach, with its sparkling icebergs dotting the black sand, left us in awe. The only downside was that some of the driving felt a bit lengthy, which made us antsy at times. However, our guide was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, which helped keep our spirits high. Overall, the experience was an exhilarating blend of adventure and natural beauty that we highly recommend!

Our family had an unforgettable journey exploring the ice caves and glaciers along the stunning south coast. The private guide made it feel more personal, sharing fascinating stories about the formations we encountered, especially at Diamond Beach where the ice sparkled like jewels. While the long drive was a bit tiring for the kids, the breathtaking views and memorable stops more than made up for it, making the adventure truly worth it.
