Discover Bran Castle, known as ‘Dracula’s Castle,’ and Râșnov Fortress on this 4-hour small group tour from Braşov. Travel to Râșnov to explore its stunning 13th-century fortress, and then visit Bran Castle, the turreted hilltop palace linked to Bram Stoker’s fictional Count Dracula. Walk through the spooky rooms and hear tales about Vlad the Impaler, the 15th-century noble who was imprisoned here and inspired Stoker’s blood-stained vampire. Upgrade to extend your tour to the beautifully ornate Peleș Castle (to be paid when you are doing the booking by choosing the option!). Please note: when you book online the extension of Peles Castle, we visit this site first, than Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress! The recommendations of our tour guides:We are always eager to make sure our guests have a wonderful time while participating on our tours. Organizing private and small group tours allows us to be flexible with time and always have opportunities for breaks.
Usually, we arrive to Bran around mid-day and after visiting Bran castle our guests can have some free time on the premises and nearby the castle grounds for lunch, shopping or photographing the area.
In the Tea House, a small restaurant in the castle’s courtyard one can try the Funeral cake, a porridge like dessert with walnuts, raisins, rum and much more. In Romanian called Coliva the funeral cake usually is served at funerals and commemoration of deceased loved ones. It goes well with a good coffee or tea.
Nearby the castle entrance a small souvenir market is located, our favorite stall is selling traditional masks and handcrafted objects and textiles. Please ask your guide to point it out to you!
Our guests have the option to decide to have a proper sit-down meal or something quick on the move. The same market has food stalls, one of the most popular ones sells Romanian Hot Dogs (local sausage sandwiches) and Hanul Bran restaurant offers a large choice of tasty Romanian cuisine.

Our six-day adventure through the mountains was a perfect blend of breathtaking scenery and intimate moments. Each hike revealed stunning views that made the effort worthwhile, and we loved how private the experience felt, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the landscape. Meals were a highlight; we enjoyed local flavors, often packed for picnics that hit the spot after a long day of hiking. One area for improvement would be to have a bit more variety in the packed lunches, as we found ourselves craving something different toward the end. Overall, it was a fantastic journey that brought us closer not only to the mountains but to each other as well.

The breathtaking landscapes of the Făgăraș Mountains stole my heart during this six-day journey from Brașov. Each day unfolded with challenging hikes that were rewarding not just for the views but also for the delicious local meals I savored at cozy mountain lodges. While I appreciated the personal touch of a private tour, a bit more variety in the evening activities would have been nice to fully unwind after the day’s adventures.

The private hiking experience in the Fagaras Mountains exceeded my expectations, offering stunning vistas and challenging trails that truly tested my limits. Each day was spent immersed in nature, with cozy overnight accommodations that made returning to rest a highlight after long hikes. My only suggestion would be to add more variety to the packed lunches, but overall, it was a memorable solo adventure from Brașov that I would highly recommend.

We had an amazing time hiking through the breathtaking landscapes of the mountains just outside Brașov, where each day brought new challenges and stunning views. The meals provided were a delightful surprise, featuring local flavors that kept us fueled for our adventures, though we wished for a bit more variety in the packed lunches.

Exploring the Fagaras Mountains over six days was an incredible way for us to connect with nature and each other, with breathtaking views around every corner. Our overnight stays in cozy lodges added a special touch, though we wished for a bit more guidance on local dining options during our evenings.
