Much less crowded than Sigiriya, with the same exact views. You could argue that the view is better because you get great photos of Sigiriya. No high entrance fee for tourists either
The Pidurangala monastery was built by King Kashyapa, who built Sigiriya in the 5th Century and is known as a location where was facilitated accommodation for five hundred mediation Bhikkus. Even though Pidurangala is located just away from Sigiriya, this site does not renovate adequately.
