Pak Ou caves and best of Luang Prabang bike tour full day
This full day tour will takes you to some destinations. The time in each destination can be flexible as your request if it doesn’t affect the whole plan.
At the departure time, you will be greeted at your hotel. You will be given a well-qualified mountain bike as one of the transportation of the tour. Hopping on the bike, you start the tour by riding from the city center along the Mekong River. You will ride on roads through local villages. On the way, you will stop by 2 traditional guild villages. They are Ban XiengLek – a village famous for weaving and making mulberry paper, and Ban Xiang Hai – a well-known village as a Whiskey Village for producing Lao Lao rice whiskey.
Then, you will stop at Pak Ou where the Nam Ou and Mekong River meet. Here, you will see a fantastic setting of incredible limestone cliffs rising from the rivers. After that, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant with a fantastic view of both rivers and the cave.
After lunch and a short rest, you will embark on a private longtail boat to cruise across the river to the holy Pak Ou Caves. Coming here, you can see thousands of Buddha relics in both the lower and upper caves. It must be a breathtaking view.
Then, you again get on the boat to cruise back to Luang Prabang. It’s time for you to relax and enjoy the scenic view of Mekong River. It may take you 1.5 hours to travel 25 km of the river. Upon your arrival to Luang Prabang, you take the bike and cycle back to the bike shop and end this unforgettable full day tour around 5pm.

Biking through the lush surroundings of Luang Prabang was an absolute thrill, and cruising along the river to the Pak Ou Caves added a layer of adventure we didn’t anticipate. The caves themselves were fascinating, filled with countless Buddha statues that sparked our curiosity. One small drawback was that the bike paths could be a bit rough in places, but it was all part of the fun in this vibrant area.

Exploring the stunning landscapes of Luang Prabang by bike was an unexpected highlight of our day. The scenic cruise to the Pak Ou Caves was equally impressive, with beautiful views along the river that truly made the experience memorable. However, we found the bike ride to be a bit more challenging than anticipated, especially when navigating some of the uneven paths. Still, the caves were captivating, and we loved having the chance to explore them up close. Overall, it was a charming way to spend a day together, mixing adventure and relaxation in this beautiful corner of the world.

We had a fantastic day biking through the charming streets and lush countryside of Luang Prabang, with the highlight being the scenic cruise that took us to the enchanting Pak Ou Caves. The only hiccup was the bike’s gears, which could have used a little tuning, but the overall experience was immersive and well-organized.
