About This Tour

Hoi An was Vietnam’s most active trading center over many centuries and has been largely preserved. The architecture of the city reflects the influence of Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, French, and British traders. Hoi An is also the town where French Missionary Alexandre De Rhodes introduced Catholicism to Vietnam as well as the Romanised script that has become the standard Vietnamese script. Hoi An is also an excellent base with which to explore the surrounding areas, and this trip will provide you the opportunity to join a local eco fishing tour on the Thu Bon river, and the chance to explore My Son, the former holy land of the Cham civilization that occupied central Vietnam between the 2nd and 15th centuries.

We had an amazing time exploring the rich culture and delicious culinary delights during our recent adventure, particularly when we found ourselves in a bustling village market, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. One standout moment was a cooking class where we learned to prepare traditional dishes, although we wished for a bit more time to savor the flavors we created together.

Our family recently embarked on a journey that took us through the stunning landscapes and rich traditions surrounding Da Nang. We found ourselves deeply immersed in the vibrant culture of the region, exploring the ancient ruins of My Son and weaving through the charming lanes of a local village. The culinary workshops were particularly memorable; we loved learning to cook traditional dishes with fresh ingredients right from the Tra Que gardens.

One of the highlights was the overnight stay in Hoi An, where the lantern-lit streets felt almost magical at night. While the pace was a tad fast at times, it ultimately kept us engaged and entertained. The guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable, but we wished for a bit more downtime to soak it all in. Overall, it was a delightful escape for our family, blending education and adventure seamlessly.
