Happy Valley of Shenzhen

Established in 1998, Happy Valley is a modern theme park with 9 themed sections and over 100 amusement rides located in Nanshan District of Shenzhen, China.

Located in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, Happy Valley is an attractive theme park covering 350,000 square meters (86 acres). The park represents many themed sections along with a large number of exciting games. What Is Inside Shenzhen Happy Valley?

Shenzhen Valley is separated into nine themed areas with nearly 100 fun and exciting games that are enjoyable for both children and adults alike. These theme areas are:

  • Happy Time Village
  • Castle Magic
  • Spanish Square
  • Cartoon City
  • Gold Mine Town
  • Adventurous
  • Shangri-la Woods
  • Sunshine Seashore
  • Typhoon Bay
  • Playa Maya Water Park

There are also top-notch performances in various styles, including magic, extreme sports, and acrobatics every day. Shops and restaurants are also available inside the Shenzhen Happy Valley, so you have more convenience while having fun.

Shenzhen Happy Valley Sections

Happy Time Village

This is the place if you are interested in modern entertainment. There is a lovely 4D Movie Theatre, which is different from the other traditional theatres. Also, it has some fun and exciting games inside.

Rides and Attractions: Tornado, Rush Hour, Discoverer, UFO, Laser Bumper Car, Joy Hot Wheels, Dream River, and the 4D Movie Theatre.

Castle Magic

Castle Magic is where fairy tales come to this world. Here is home to the Huanhuan mascot family, Xiaogu, and Lele. This is the best place to enjoy some fun recreation with your children as there are over 20 attractions to use here. Also, you can watch the first Chinese panoramic magic show known as “the City of Fantasy” which can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

Rides and Attractions: Frog Hopper, Merry-Go-Round, Simulated Fire Department, Ant Soldiers, Castle Watcher, Arctic Exploration, and Ice World.

Spanish Square

Spanish Square is the most southwestern part of Shenzhen Happy Valley. It has a welcoming theme as it is the entrance section of the park. This part is designed based on a Mediterranean Spanish Warf.

Cartoon City

When you are walking in the south direction, you will find Cartoon City in which, amazing stories are shown as films and cartoons. Peppy King’s Mansion is an attraction here that provides kids with a dreamy house.

Gold Mine Town

Located on the eastern side of the park, Gold Mine Town is designed based on a small flooded mine town located in North America. Here you can have a thrilling experience by escaping from the Flood on the Gold Mine Train. There is a Gold Mine Workshop inside Gold Mine Town, which offers you a fantastic opportunity to forge a steel keepsake.

Rides and Attractions: Gold Mine Workshop and Gold Mine River Rapids.

Mt. Adventurous

Mt. Adventure is situated south of Gold Mine Town. This section is an exciting place with beautiful flowers and dense woods. As the name suggests, this place is designed for adventurers. Inside this area, there is The Space Shot which would take you to 60 meters (197 feet) in just 1.8 seconds, followed by a free fall from that height. This experience happens so fast and is a beloved one for adventurers.

Rides and Attractions: Forest Climbing and Space Port.

Shangri-la Woods

Shangri-la is the most northeastern area of Shenzhen Happy Valley. In this mysterious and peaceful part, you can see Blue Moon Hollow portraying mountains, waterfalls, caves, bears, falcons, and other animals.

Rides and Attractions: Straw Hats, Suspended Looping Coaster, and Jungle Hunting

Sunshine Seashore

On the west side of Shangri-la Woods, you reach the Sunshine Seashore, which is a charming section of Shenzhen Happy Valley. This area has different entertaining shows by marvelous actors. In this section, Happy Valley Extreme Sports Camp can be found.

Rides and Attractions: Jumping Frog

Typhoon Bay

Typhoon Bay is located on the southern Sunshine Seashore. Here is the most exciting area of Shenzhen Happy Valley as it is a small fishing village. In this section, you can find Shooting the Chute which has the highest fall in the world. The Top Spin is another attraction that would bring you high into the sky, followed by an unexpected turnover that would make you experience screaming out of excitement.

Playa Maya Water Park

Playa Maya Water Park is one of the most lovely sections of Shenzhen Happy Valley; however, it is only open to visitors from May 1st to October 7th. This Water Park is designed based on the mysterious Mayan Civilization.

In Playa Maya Water Park, you will see Mayan architectural styles, buildings, and statues. During the day, you can enjoy this water park with its dense woods and animals such as parrots, crocodiles, and great lizards. Each night, there will be dance performances by foreign tribes as well.

How to Get to Shenzhen Happy Valley?

To reach Shenzhen Happy Valley, you can use either subway or the bus.

By Subway

If your choice is by Subway, you need to go on Line 1 or 2 and get off at Window of the World station. Use Exit A and walk for about three minutes to reach the Shenzhen Happy Valley.

By Bus

Your bus option is to take the sightseeing bus from Luohu railway station to reach Happy Valley

You can also use the Happy Line to go between Window of the World and Splendid China Folk Village to Happy Valley.


  • Adults: 230 Yuan
  • Children with a height between 1.2 and 1.5 meters (3.9 and 4.9 feet): 120 Yuan.
  • Children below 1.2 meters (3.9 feet): free
  • Night Ticket for Adults and Children with a height of over 1.2 meters (3.9 feet): 100 Yuan. (The entrance time for night tickets is after 6:00 PM)

Opening Hours

Shenzhen Happy Valley is open from 10:00 AM to 18:00 PM.
