Day 2 : Da Nang - Hue Heritage (B/L/-)

Begin your journey to Hue, traveling along the northern coast of Da Nang and making a stop at the top of Hai Van Pass to explore the remnants of war bunkers. Upon arrival in Hue, we will visit the Citadel, the city's prime attraction, which encompasses the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor's Private Residence. Built from 1804 to 1833 during the Nguyen Dynasty - the last feudal kingdom in Vietnam - the Citadel is fortified by 2-kilometer ramparts and surrounded by a tranquil moat. Inside the Citadel, you can explore a variety of structures, including the Imperial City Gates, the Purple Forbidden City, as well as temples, pavilions, and beautifully landscaped gardens.

After a short break for lunch, we will embark on a boat trip along the picturesque Perfume River, making a stop at Thien Mu Pagoda. This active Buddhist monastery, dating back to 1601, houses poignant historical displays, including a car belonging to a former monk who set himself alight in 1963 to protest against the South Vietnamese regime's treatment of Buddhists. Finally, we will visit the serene Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, designed to blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings and built according to feng shui principles. Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 3 : Da Nang - Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge - Hoi An (B/L/-)

Ba Na is one of the most fascinating areas in the region, where you can often experience four distinct seasons in a single day: spring in the morning, summer at noon, autumn in the afternoon, and winter in the evening.. One of the highlights of this stunning destination is the Golden Bridge, a 150-meter-long pedestrian bridge supported by two giant stone hands. This impressive structure connects the cable car station with the gardens, offering a scenic overlook and serving as a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the beautiful natural landscape from a comfortable vantage point.

Beyond the Golden Bridge, you will find a charming French village, complete with a French Gothic-style cathedral, delightful restaurants, cobblestoned streets, and stunning gardens. There are numerous attractions to explore, including Linh Ung Ba Na Pagoda, Le Jardin Garden, and a complex of ancient villas. Linh Ung Ba Na Pagoda, built in 2004, features exquisite architectural design, highlighted by a 30-meter-high Buddha statue that rises majestically amid the clouds and mountains. Our adventure continues as we discover Tinh Tam Garden, Nghinh Phong Peak, Luna Castle, Eclipse Square, and Vong Nguyet Hill, all offering panoramic views of the region where we can enjoy the panoramic views the areas have to offer. Overnight in Hoi An.

We had a fantastic time in Da Nang, immersing ourselves in its authentic culture and stunning landscapes, especially the golden bridge that seemed to float above the clouds. The culinary experiences exceeded our expectations—each meal was a delightful exploration of local flavors, from street food stalls to charming restaurants. While our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, we did feel that some days could have included a bit more downtime to truly soak in the breathtaking scenery.

Exploring Vietnam’s rich heritage was a journey I won’t forget anytime soon. From savoring local street food in Da Nang to marveling at the stunning Golden Bridge, I felt immersed in the culture every step of the way. The accommodations were cozy and offered a perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, making it easy to unwind after a day of adventure. However, there were a couple of long drives that tested my patience, especially when I was eager to get back to the sights. Overall, I truly appreciated this experience and the chance to discover the scenic beauty of Vietnam.
