The Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires, MALBA, was founded in September 2001 with the objective of collecting, preserving, studying and disseminating Latin American art from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. It is a private non-profit institution that preserves and exhibits a heritage of approximately 400 works by the main modern and contemporary artists of the region. It combines a calendar of temporary exhibitions, with the stable exhibition of its institutional collection, and simultaneously works as a plural space of production of cultural and educational activities
Fall in love with the Floralis Generica, an imposing 20 meters high sculpture that dominates the United Nations Square in the Recoleta neighborhood.
Donated to the City of Buenos Aires by its author the Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano, it is made of stainless steel and aluminum and weighs 18 tons. It was the first sculpture in movement controlled by a hydraulic system and photoelectric cells.
Its name, "Floralis Generica", is a tribute to all flowers. It is about the projection of a dream of its creator, that of building a structure on a large scale that reflects the dynamism of our time.

The vault where the body of Eva Perón is located is the place most frequented by tourists in the Buenos Aires Recoleta cemetery.
The tombs, which are 200 meters to the left of the main entrance gate to the cemetery, belong to the Duarte family. Eva Perón's is five meters underground in the second basement.
The remains of María Eva Duarte de Perón arrived at this place in the 70s when they were repatriated from Spain.

Exploring the iconic Recoleta neighborhood was a perfect way for us to immerse ourselves in Buenos Aires’ charm. The walking tour allowed us to take our time and appreciate the stunning architecture while learning about the area’s fascinating history. We did find the pace a bit brisk at times, which made it hard to stop for photos, but overall, it was a delightful experience that gave us a deeper appreciation for this vibrant part of the city.

During our brief stay in Buenos Aires, we decided to take a walking tour through Recoleta, which turned out to be a delightful way to appreciate the neighborhood’s charm and history. Our guide expertly navigated us through the beautiful tree-lined streets, pointing out unique architecture and fascinating stories behind the landmarks. One of the highlights for us was visiting the famous Recoleta Cemetery, where we marveled at the ornate mausoleums and learned about the prominent figures buried there. While the pace felt a bit rushed at times, it was an overall enriching experience that offered a glimpse into the heart of this iconic area. We would definitely recommend this tour for those looking to connect with the essence of the area.

Our group had a fantastic time wandering through the beautiful streets of Recoleta, soaking in the stunning architecture and vibrant atmosphere. Stopping by the Recoleta Cemetery was definitely a highlight, with its elaborate tombs and rich history sparking some fascinating conversations among us. The only downside was that we found ourselves wanting a bit more time to explore the local cafés and shops after the tour wrapped up.
