Ambuluwawa Tower is the first Multi-Religious Centre in Sri Lanka. You can see a Temple, Kovil, Mosque, and a Church. It is known that Ambuluwawa Temple is an evocative of a Buddhist ‘stupa’ with a height of 48 meters. This Multi-Religious Centre shows the perfect Harmony and Unity among us Sri Lankans from the beginning. You’ll be able to see not only Buddhist everyone visits Ambuluwawa Tower to get the amazing experience and also to worship their religions. An interesting fact about this site is it became a biodiversity complex in 2006.

Ambuluwawa to Ramboda Falls
Rivers, as they flow over uneven ground or down mountains, often split into tributaries or form waterfalls. Sometimes two tributaries of the same river may form twin waterfalls very close to each other as the water spills down cliffs and rocks. However, it is quite uncommon for the tributaries to combine after forming the waterfalls making a Y shape. This unique and beautiful sight can be seen at the Puswallawa area of Nuwara Eliya at the Ramboda Pass. The Ramboda Falls in Sri Lanka or Ramboda Ella or Puna Ella as these falls are called is created from Puna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. It makes a twin with Dunsinane Falls which is created by Pundalu Oya, also a tributary of Kothmale River, and combines at the base to form a Y shape.

The moment we reached the summit, the breathtaking view of the expansive lake below left us in awe. While the cultural insights shared by our guide enriched the experience, we found the pacing a bit rushed at times, making it hard to fully absorb the beauty around us. Overall, it was a rewarding day filled with hiking, discovery, and a deeper appreciation for the landscapes that surrounded us.

The hike around the serene lake was a breath of fresh air, offering stunning views that made the effort worthwhile. My only minor concern was that some trails felt a bit overgrown, which occasionally obscured the path, but overall, I left with a deeper appreciation for the culture and beauty surrounding me.

Exploring Dajti Mountain and the tranquil Bovilla Lake was a refreshing escape from our busy work schedule. We really appreciated the blend of cultural insights shared by our guide, who made sure we understood the history behind the stunning landscapes around us. The only hiccup was that the trail could get a bit crowded at times, but the breathtaking views and the chance to connect with fellow hikers made it worthwhile.

We had an amazing time hiking through stunning landscapes, discovering hidden gems near the lake, although the trail was a bit steep for our youngest.
