Day 1

This cascade is very handy. It keeps things cool and provides heaps of running water for the women of the town to come to the communal laundry to go the family wash. it provides an important source not just of H2O but social interaction for the women whose lives seem to be somewhat proscribed and cloistered. No need to make a special point of visiting it as you will just come across it while wandering around the hilly little town.

Day 1 Constructed in the 15th century

Chefchaouen’s Grande Mosque was built on the orders of Moulay Mohamed Ben Ali Ben Rachid, the son of the city’s founder. It features an octagonal minaret, which is somewhat unusual when compared to the many square minarets that generally tower over the nation’s myriad mosques. The shape was influenced by Andalusian styles, brought to the country by Muslims from Spain. Built from stone, the shades of brown and beige are juxtaposed against the nearby blue and white buildings. Admiring the mosque is among the top things to do in the city.

Day 1

From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole city, and one of the best sunsets of Morocco.

Our group had an unforgettable time immersing ourselves in the beauty of the national park. Kayaking across the tranquil lake was a highlight, allowing us to soak in stunning views while gliding through the water. The trekking paths led us through lush landscapes, and we appreciated the opportunity to connect with local culture during our meals, which featured fresh ingredients and traditional flavors. While the guides were generally knowledgeable, we sometimes felt they could have shared more about the area’s history to enrich our experience. Overall, it was a fantastic getaway that balanced adventure with relaxation.

We had a promising adventure in Bắc Kạn, where kayaking on the stunning lake and trekking through the national park met our expectations for a refreshing escape from the daily grind. The overnight stay in a local homestay added a unique touch, offering a glimpse into the local culture and cuisine, which we appreciated. While the kayaking was exhilarating, we did find the trekking paths a bit challenging at times, which may not suit everyone. Overall, the combination of nature and local charm made this trip worthwhile, despite a couple of minor hurdles along the way.

We set off for an adventure that combined the beauty of nature with some thrilling activities, and we weren’t disappointed. The trekking through Ba Be National Park was invigorating, offering us stunning views and close encounters with the lush wildlife. Kayaking on the lake felt refreshing, as we paddled along while soaking up the serene surroundings. One highlight was the local meals provided, especially the savory fish dish that tasted like it was caught fresh that day. However, we did encounter some minor issues with our accommodations that could use a little improvement. Overall, it was a fabulous family getaway filled with unforgettable moments and breathtaking scenery.

Exploring the serene waters of the lake while kayaking and trekking through the lush trails made for an unforgettable family getaway, though the accommodations could have been a bit more comfortable.
