Arrive independently at Terraza Cha Cha Cha, in front of the Monument to the Revolution. Check in with the tour team and board your assigned air-conditioned vehicle.

Departure from Mexico City — 4:00 PM

Depart toward San Andrés Mixquic. During the journey, the bilingual SAT Mexico coordinator introduces the history, symbolism and cultural importance of Día de Muertos.

Cultural Orientation & Recommendations — During Transfer

Learn about cempasúchil flowers, candles, altars, offerings and Mexican traditions surrounding the remembrance of deceased loved ones. Receive recommendations for places to visit, safety tips, emergency information and the designated meeting point.

Arrival in San Andrés Mixquic — Approximately 6:00 PM

Arrive in Mixquic and begin your independent exploration of the Day of the Dead celebrations. Traffic and local conditions may affect the exact arrival time.

Free Time to Explore Mixquic — Approximately 6:00–11:00 PM

Explore the celebration at your own pace. Discover decorated streets, altars, cempasúchil flowers, candles, local food stalls, crafts and traditional displays. Visit the surroundings of the Parish of San Andrés Apóstol and explore the area around the local cemetery according to access conditions.

Day of the Dead Traditions & Nighttime Atmosphere — Evening

Experience the atmosphere of one of Mexico City's most emblematic Day of the Dead celebrations. On November 2, look for the traditional nighttime illumination of the graves, when candles and flowers create a deeply symbolic scene honoring the deceased.

Return to the assigned meeting point at the time provided by your coordinator. Follow all instructions carefully to ensure an organized departure from Mixquic.

Board your transportation for the return journey. Estimated arrival at the Monument to the Revolution is around 1:00 AM, subject to traffic conditions.

  • Mixquic can become extremely crowded, noisy and busy during Day of the Dead celebrations.
  • Always follow the coordinator's instructions and respect the assigned meeting time.
  • Comfortable walking shoes or tennis shoes are strongly recommended.
