Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi Arrival & Sightseeing

  • Arrive in Delhi by morning or early afternoon. After checking into your hotel and freshening up, head out to explore the landmarks of New Delhi. India Gate & Rajpath: Start with a drive down the ceremonial boulevard, passing the President's House (Rashtrapati Bhavan) and the Parliament House. Stop at India Gate, the iconic 42-meter war memorial arch, to walk the lawns.

Humayun’s Tomb: Spend your late afternoon wandering through this magnificent 16th-century garden tomb. Built of red sandstone and white marble, its symmetrical architecture served as the primary design blueprint for the Taj Mahal decades later.

Day 2

Delhi to Agra

  • Spend the morning exploring the historic Mughal heart of the capital before hitting the highway after lunch. Jama Masjid & Chandni Chowk: Visit one of India’s largest mosques, built by Shah Jahan. Afterward, take a classic cycle-rickshaw ride through the dense, chaotic trading alleys of Chandni Chowk to experience the sights and aromas of the old city.

Drive to Agra (3.5 hours): After lunch, leave Delhi via the Yamuna Expressway.

Agra Fort: Upon arriving in Agra, head straight to this massive red sandstone fortress. It functions as a walled palatial city and offers beautiful marble pavilions with distant, framed views of the Taj Mahal across the river at sunset.

Day 3

Agra to Jaipur

  • A big day of travel that takes you from the state of Uttar Pradesh into the royal desert state of Rajasthan. Taj Mahal at Sunrise: Wake up early to visit the world's most famous monument to love at dawn. Witnessing the morning light hit the translucent white marble helps you beat both the intense midday heat and the largest tourist crowds.

Fatehpur Sikri Excursion: Check out of your hotel and drive 40 km west of Agra to Akbar's short-lived, beautifully preserved ghost city. Explore the massive Buland Darwaza (Victory Gate) and the delicate marble tomb of Salim Chishti.

Drive to Jaipur (4 hours): Continue your journey west to the "Pink City" of Jaipur, checking into your hotel by evening.

Day 4

Jaipur Full Day Sightseeing

  • Amer Fort: Head just north of the city early in the morning to this stunning hilltop fortress. Walk through the grand courtyards and admire the breathtaking Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), where walls are inlaid with thousands of tiny, shimmering mirrors.

Hawa Mahal: On your way back into the city, stop for photos in front of this iconic, five-story pink sandstone facade. Built with 953 tiny lattice windows, it allowed royal women to observe street festivals unseen.

City Palace & Jantar Mantar: Explore the active royal residence to see historic textiles, armor, and courtyards. Right next door, tour the 18th-century astronomical observatory to see the world's largest stone sundial.

Day 5

Jaipur to Delhi Drop

  • Local Bazaars: Spend your morning exploring Jaipur’s famous old city markets—like Johari Bazaar (famous for jewelry and gemstones) or Bapu Bazaar (known for textiles and leather footwear).

Return Journey: After an early lunch, begin the 5-hour drive (~270 km) back to Delhi via the highway, heading directly to the airport or railway station for your onward journey home.
